Reminds me of a young Wes Welker. Tough, gritty...just a great competitor.
January 30th, 2010 at 2:26 PM ^
And he has a good mind for the game.
January 30th, 2010 at 2:57 PM ^
... a blue-collar kind of guy... maybe a coach's son.
January 30th, 2010 at 3:20 PM ^
insert off the shelf white boy football effort comment here
/captain obvious
EDIT: to be clear, I'm excited to have him coming to Ann Arbor, but, as Brian et al have mentioned on more than one occasion, he gets an overwhelming share of standard compliments in the Wes Welker mold - effort, good head for the game, blue collar, hard worker, etc. It's simultaneously comedic and appropriate.
January 30th, 2010 at 5:19 PM ^
A throwback to another era....
January 30th, 2010 at 3:28 PM ^
Not every white slot-receiver is the next Wes Welker.
That said, it's hard to not like what you see from the video, especially at such a young age, and in what I keep reading is a very competitive part of Louisiana.
January 30th, 2010 at 2:09 PM ^
5 yards behind his blockers at the 50 and ends up 5 yards in front of them as he scores... If you ain't going to block someone, get out of the way!!!!
January 30th, 2010 at 2:13 PM ^
i was sad to see the video end.....this kid is fun to watch
January 30th, 2010 at 2:21 PM ^
He is a much better blocker than I would think for someone his size....which is quite positive considering the offense he is going to be playing in.
January 30th, 2010 at 3:34 PM ^
When I watch videos from recruits, I look at the small things, like blocking... He also seems to get the most out of every play, even if he doesn't have the ball in his hands. That's a nice addition to the team as well.
January 30th, 2010 at 2:22 PM ^
Looks like he can return punts and also he appears to be a good blocker on the edge for his size. I am sure we will find a spot for him at Michigan.
January 30th, 2010 at 2:25 PM ^
Coach Rod is a scouting mastermind.
January 30th, 2010 at 2:30 PM ^
He LOOKS like lightning in a bottle, and on the field it SEEMS like he's a difference-maker who can run like a cheetah...
But we know that can't be the case, because some guy at Rivals says so.
January 30th, 2010 at 2:31 PM ^
He looks for contact and always cut back into the field of play to get extra yards rather than stepping out of bounds. Like that style of play but hope he is durable enough to take the hits he will get at the college level.
January 30th, 2010 at 2:35 PM ^
He is a great blocker for the spread. I hope he is able to replicate this with B10 defenders.
Definitely see him being an important part of this offense in a couple years.
January 30th, 2010 at 2:40 PM ^
He looks to be a great fit for our offense. And i cant help but keep reminding myself that he is only 15 and 16 in these videos haha. Excited to see him around age 21-22, with a couple years of work with barwis. Honestly i could say that about all of the recruits though.
January 30th, 2010 at 2:40 PM ^
This team is going to be fun to watch! Can't wait.
January 30th, 2010 at 2:56 PM ^
In the excitement that has been the recruiting season and in the delight of our class, I always overlook Dileo.
Can't wait until this kid is returning punts, kicks and being utilized as an overall utility man.
Can't wait until he is on the field.
January 30th, 2010 at 2:56 PM ^
legs look a little bit stumpy to me.
January 30th, 2010 at 3:27 PM ^
Yeah, this guy does have stumpy legs. With very good speed, short strong legs, and a low center of gravity he reminds me of losers like Maurice Jones-Drew, Darren Sproles, Dante Hall, Leon Washington, Mike Hart, and Marshall Faulk.
Why would we recruit a guy like this?
January 30th, 2010 at 3:53 PM ^
He's referring to a recent meltdown (forget who it was) over the supposedly stumpy legs belonging to our very own Ray Vinopal.
January 30th, 2010 at 4:51 PM ^
It was Doctor Sherwin and everyone keeps misquoting him. He kept saying "stubby" legs, not "stumpy."
January 30th, 2010 at 3:01 PM ^
i wouldnt be surprised to see him pushing for time in two years. this guy is a great player and is a great part of this recruiting class. you gotta love that work ethic on the field, he is always doing something to help out the play. Hypnoticmoto is right, i would hate to have to cover this guy after he's been in Barwis' system for a couple years
January 30th, 2010 at 3:01 PM ^
This kid looks to play real fast. Did you see that stiff arm sick. RR looks to have found another solid kid.
January 30th, 2010 at 3:05 PM ^
Wow. I'm even more excited to see him once he develops further. Can't believe he's playing that solid at 15 and 16. Wish someone could find some senior year highlights.
January 30th, 2010 at 3:51 PM ^
He's the next Julian Edelman!
BOOM.
January 30th, 2010 at 3:57 PM ^
I hope he becomes the full-time punt returner this year
January 30th, 2010 at 3:59 PM ^
Even if he doesn't quite have top-notch speed, I'll be happy with him returning punts if it means he can CATCH THE DAMN BALL
January 30th, 2010 at 4:07 PM ^
What makes you think he doesn't have top notch speed? Because the recruiting websites have him at 4.5 speed?
January 30th, 2010 at 4:42 PM ^
that make him look slow.
January 30th, 2010 at 4:52 PM ^
Yeah, because recruiting websites are well known for never exaggerating.
January 30th, 2010 at 6:04 PM ^
@6:30 - Getting pulled down by the jersey, still turns to try to dish a hit to a safety who's come to finish the play off. Love it.
January 30th, 2010 at 7:22 PM ^
very impressive. He has an innate sense for finding the seam, especially in the return game, which is a very instinctual part of the game. He blocks well in the open field and has that "nasty" attitude that those GBMW guys prize so highly. I'll be excited to see this kid in Maize and Blue.
January 31st, 2010 at 9:48 AM ^
Kid is fun to watch. I'm really excited about this recruiting class.
January 31st, 2010 at 11:15 AM ^
Does not fit a pro style system but is a perfect match for RR spread offense. Another example of RR getting his players and not just highly rated guys.
January 31st, 2010 at 12:04 PM ^
I like him already.
January 31st, 2010 at 2:55 PM ^
When you look at his SO year video he made some nice hits on D and we clearly need more help at CB then we do at slot WR.
January 31st, 2010 at 4:48 PM ^
His acceleration was EXPLOSIVE IME.
explosive acceleration equals great for slot
February 1st, 2010 at 2:02 AM ^
Kid looks like he is going to find his way on to field. Anybody else notice his high school had about 5 different uniforms?
February 1st, 2010 at 6:23 AM ^
Yeah I noticed blue/white, white/blue and red/white. I guess it makes sense to use three unis if your school colors are red white and blue as it is probably not that uncommon?
February 1st, 2010 at 7:46 AM ^
That's a little ball of white lightning, there. I love it!
