I will say I have connections to the family and Harris simply loves it at UofM in terms of the school in general so that may explain why he's not transferring.

It's frustrating because I believe the plays he's been out there he hasn't necesaarrily looked out of place (no drops really, although that's from a very small sample size) and would have liked to see him get more oppurtunities , but granted I understand this is the big leagues and he hasn't created enough at this point in a talent-riched team.    I am skeptical about this move as he never played defense in high school even, but I wish him the best.

try to be positive around here?

It's actually a pretty striking comparison.  Both great athletes, very tall for the position (of CB), both played three injury plagued seasons at WR before moving over, and both did so in year three of Harbaugh.

Richard did have a very good year as a freshman WR before getting hit by the injury bug, and I doubt the same lightning will strike twice, but would be great if it did.

From a Kinesio standpoint, it is fascinating, as the WR position is extrememly repetitive, and prone to repetitive-stress injuries (which some individuals just don't have the genetics for), whereas the DB position is much more balanced.

If he has quick first 2-3 steps, then he could absolutely be productive at this level.

He can already jump, contest, and doesn't shy away from physicality.

2007, I remember watching the Stanford USC game, where there was a 48ish point spread, and Stanford was walking into the colluseum with a backup QB.

That backup hit Sherman on a critical 4th down on their way to winning the game.

I'm not saying Drake Harris is going to be Richard Sherman, that would be a stretch.  But height/weights are similar, 6'4", 188lbs vs. 6'3" 194 lbs, and I trust Harbaugh.

actually had some success at WR before the switch. In his first two years he had 73 rec, 1232 yds, and 7 TDs. He only missed one game in his first two years.

Drake Harris has 8 rec for 50 yards and has missed 867 games (give or take a few).

some really bad luck with injurys and his hamstring. Seems he was never healthy enough to show what he could do on the offensive side of the ball. Almost like he never practiced and played enough to get into a rythym with the QB's.  Hope he can stay healthy and possibly become a very good CB.

Not important, but he's also switching to #12. Pretty cool that Metellus gets to keep #14 on defense despite being younger.

6'4" on a corner definitely gives Don Brown the length he wants at CB.

There goes all of my hope of Drake running go routes for TDs. If it for those injuries I fully believe he would have been an All-B1G receiver

I don't understand this from Drake's perspective. He will be a run liability due to his slight frame. He, when healthy, has speed and length. Those together equal WR every time. Playing is great but as a fifth year guy moving to a new position, is this just a decision to take the free degree and call it a career?

I think the concerns about our young secondary are more than rumor.  And we are loaded at WR.  I have faith in the staff finding a package where they can utilize his speed and length.

It may have come down to a handful of snaps on offense per game, or doubling/tripling the number of snaps on defense in the nickel.
