This might be a little OT and reserved for another board/site, but this whole "non qualifier" thing really alarms me. I guess it might just hit me harder now after reading about the DPS math score thing. How bad is our educational system here? Or how bad is the family structure of some of these kids that allows them to do so poorly in school?
I did well in high school and didnt work that hard. I don't know the specific requirements to "qualify", but I am going out on a limb here and assuming that the requirements are not too stringent.
It's a sad testament to society that these kids can't even qualify to take advantage of a full college scholarship given to them due to their god given athletic talents.

It can be really bad depending on the school district. I've done some work in some places that are more like jails than schools.
