I thought that myself when I read that article that talked about a Data Scientist(tm)
[DOUBLE POST] Brian Kelly to ND a done deal
Normally I don't care about double posting, but this was on the front page about 20 threads down.
I missed that ...
I care that people repeat the writer's mistake of headlining it "Done Deal" when the article itself does not support it.
If the article you're linking says this: "According to published reports, it's an all but done deal that Cincinnati's Brian Kelly will become the next head coach at Notre Dame with the announcement expected to come Friday after Kelly has had a chance to talk to his players and gotten through the team's football banquet," then, well, it's not a "done deal."
These articles have advanced the ball no farther than the original assumption: that Kelly will likely end up at ND.
Ask George O'Leary or Gary Kubiak about "done deals."
Better yet, ask Les Miles about done deals.
... head coach of a damn fine football team.
Really does seem like a formality by now. I'm sure they're just hashing out the final details. This is going to be fun!
