Dorrestain's recollection of D-Rob's 87 yd TD Run

I love this!  Priceless

"I was blocking and trying to get in the guy's way," Michigan offensive tackle Perry Dorrestein said of Robinson's 87-yard burst down the right sideline. "All of the sudden, I heard all the Notre Dame fans go quiet. I knew something happened again."

Yeah, that run was fairly

Yeah, that run was fairly insane.  At two different times, Denard actually sped up from his prior speed.  It was like watching a race car shift from second to third to fourth gear - only faster, obviously.

Many heroes on that play

If you watch the replay, you'll see what the coaches meant after the game when they kept saying "Yes Denard was awesome, but the other guys are playing a big part too." That play really epitomizes how and why this team is winning.  Molk gets an outstanding reach block to seal the DT; Schilling takes out the weakside LB. Dorrestein does a nice job on the DE, and Koger stalemates the DB over the slot. Meanwhile, Omameh should get a +5 on that play on the UFR: he absolutely pancakes MLB Manti Te'o -- so thoroughly, in fact, that healso ends up taking out the weakside safety who might've been the only guy with an angle on Denard.  And Odoms and Roundtree get great blocks downfield-- Roundtree just destroys the playside safety with a cut block.

And oh yeah, Denard did OK too. There was really just a little crease b/w Dorrestein and Koger, but he was patient, waited for the hole, and blazed through. Just outstanding work by everyone on that play.

It's Dorrestein

I wouldn't have been 'that guy' if you'd spelled it Dorrestine or Dorrestyne, but Dorrestain... that's just unfortunate.

I agree tho... funny quote. Dorrestein might have a career in broadcasting some day.

Damn, the camera angle from the endzone following Denard's face showed utter intensity. He was fucking pushing it. At what point did the defenders think "damn, I'm never going to catch this guy."

Hah, I read the same quote

Hah, I read the same quote and also thought it was awesome. Denard doesn't do - he happens, man.

Seriously, "something happened again." As if it's a foregone conclusion that things like this will happen, and the only uncertainty is when they will happen. That's the feeling you get watching Denard out there.

Denard doesn't do - he happens

This is made possible by the dilithium — Denard actually folds space. The instantaneous effect is indistinguishable from simply "happening." One moment Denard is on the 13 yd line, the next moment he is in the end zone.

Someone needs to make this a hype video.

The music from The Happening trailer. Stunned looks from fans, coaches, etc. No indication of what it is until the very end, where you see Denard streaking for the end zone for 87 yards.

One of the best things about

One of the best things about Denard aside from his great leadership and smile is that as soon as he gets to the second level it's either a 15-20 yard gain or a touchdown.  I have a feeling by the time the season is over he's going to have more 20+ yard plays then anyone in college football.  Great job by the offensive line to continue to open up consistent holes for him, allowing us to gash teams two weeks in a row.

I found this video of the

I found this video of the referenced Dorrestein postgame interview:

<object style="height: 344px; width: 425px"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/DzPzsHJH2Dk?version=3"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/DzPzsHJH2Dk?version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="425" height="344"></object>

The relevant quote is at about 0:29. It sounds like he was misquoted. Instead of hearing him say "I knew something happened again," I'm hearing the phrase "I knew we did something right." It's hard to tell, though, because Perry is half-laughing as he speaks and is obviously still exasperated following the game.

I still think The Happening is a good nickname (can he have another one in addition to shoelace?), but I thought I'd just point out that it appears that the above quote is apocryphal.

Last year there was Carlos

Last year there was Carlos Brown's 90-yard TD.  This year, Denard's 87-yarder.  Already in RR's brief tenure we've recorded two of the longest runs in school history.  And you just know there will be more.
