Dont bother ...move on
"Coach Mattison told me what the Ravens were about, what he thought," Beyer said. "He definitely encouraged me. I hold his opinion in high regard."
WHY COME SOME PLAYERS BETTER THAN OTHERS
*SHAKES FIST AT THE HEAVENS*
Who the hell knows. No doubt Mouton has been underwhelming in most aspects except right uppercuts and Butch's boy still has to do some learning at his new position. We can only hope for improvement.
Dont bother ...move on
Probably because Roh is pretty darn good for a freshman DE, Kovacs is pretty darn good for a walkon at safety, Mouton is the best option at LB even if he may not be the most optimal option, and Woolfolk, Floyd and Cissoko are the best options at CB even if they may not be the most optimal options. So you see some excel at some positions and make plays, whereas others do not do as well at their respective positions.
In a perfect world, everyone would be able to excel at their positions, but this is college football which is anything but perfect with 18-21 year olds running things. I really don't grasp your point in all this. Are you saying that Roh should be a CB and Kovacs should be an LB? I don't think that would work out so well. Aside from that, we have a couple players that made good plays. I don't think there's too much else to draw from that.
GOD DAMMIT DUDE
That was awesome.
Yes, when Craig Roh breaks up 1 pass because he threw his hands up when he saw the receiver turn, he's a better pass defender than Cissoko and Floyd (who also had a break-up in the game).
And yes, when Kovacs is sent on a run-blitz, and the other team runs, he makes the tackle.
Don't stray from the accepted Michigan fanbase party line that Cissoko is an incompetent boob who should be forced to pay back his scholarship.
hehe, you said "boob"
I'm sorry, what's the point of this post?
the hell is Woolfork?
Can't spell players' names right, can't title your post with anything resembling accurate identification, and stupid assertions.
POST = FAIL. Try again.
While the OP is steaming pile of fail-dung, I have to make it known that the announcers all game were saying "Woolfork" instead of Woolfolk.
but if they were screwing up the pronunciation of Tate's name, I would hope we're smart enough not to see people typing "Forseer" on this here E-Blog. These players do play for the team we support - it's the least we can do to properly spell their names.
I agree completely. I was primarily just using that as an excuse to mention something that pissed me off the whole damn game.
But his dad was a pretty well known player here. You'd think that would be enough to get Michigan fans to spell his name right.
I don't know how many times I screamed "WoolFOLK!, his name is Woolfolk, not Woolfork".
According to the BTN announcers his name is Whirr-fork.
Wasn't there a Woolfork who played somewhere on the defense for Miami (FL) back in the 90's or then-abouts?
Obviously, they were referring to this.
one or two good plays don't make a player always good at something. Kovacs was in position to make the play, and he did. Same with Roh. The problem is, if you aren't watching closely you miss all the little things like gap containment that forced the runner outside allowing Kovacs to be in position in the first place.
Ezeh, Mouton, etc. had to be in the correct position for Kovacs to be in the correct position, see how that works?
And you cannot compare one play by Roh to every coverage play by the secondary. I'd be willing to bet everything I own (which sadly isn't much) that if you put Roh and Cissoko on the field for 100 coverage plays each, Cissoko's (or any DB's for that matter) "good coverage" percentage will be significantly higher than Roh's.
The illusion you have with Roh stems from the CB's being in man coverage a majority of the time (which is tougher against good WR's) while Roh happened to be in zone coverage (i.e. don't let them pass in this circle) and the reciever being thrown to was right in the middle of Roh's zone.
The OP realized he was a moron and changed his OP, this happened yesterday too!
Maybe the board is actually making progress!
did you not know that Wednesday is Troll Day? Any progress we have made this day shall only be swallowed up in the filth of tomorrow...
Unfortunately some of us didn't get to see the moronic post before it was changed.
I threw a touchdown pass one time.
That doesn't mean I was a good quarterback.
I threw a TD pass and got 2 sacks last week on scout O/D. Vs. JV players no less!
I threw 3 touchdown passes in one game of Co-ed Flag Football! I also had 3 touchdown passes in 8 games of Co-ed Flag Football!
Iz a good QB, yes?
How am i to judge if the comments were pointless with this retraction crap?
I played QB and MLB in intramural flag football when I was on campus. Those were good times. We even got to the championship game in Oosterbaan. The opposing team ran a Wildcat play where the full-time QB ran a corner route and I played pass defense like Craig Roh.
I should probably be starting at corner for Michigan.
F that game, you could be starting CB for USC, Florida, Texas, Miami, Pitt and Michigan at the same time! You're only allowed to play on one team per BCS Conference though.
I was an IM ref and I broke up a fight between some grad school douches (well, I kinda half assed tried to stop them from hitting each other and I was a little drunk so I actually wanted to see it) ... I should get a job in UFC.
There was a guy named Vince Wilfork who played for Miami-FL. He now plays nose tackle for the Patriots.
