Per Brian Bennett of ESPN. Don deserves this award 1000%, I don't even care who the other four finalists are.

FTR, the other finalists happen to be:

Jeremy Pruitt, Alabama DC (IMO the only other one with a shot, but he worked with much more talent than Brown)

Brent Venables, Clemson DC

Jim Leavitt, Colorado DC (reminder we scored 45 on them)

Matt Canada, Pitt OC

Pitt's OC certainly deserves to be in the conversation.  He orchestrated a pretty high powered offense that carried that team, which is somewhat surprising considering who their HC is.

Not sure how Brown couldn't win this.  He took one of last years best defenses and turned it into a monster that EVERYBODY says is better than last year by a mile!

Jeremy Pruitt?  Nice DC, sure.  But Bama didn't play anyone.  Auburn is the one ranked team Bama played all year.

Granted, maize and blue spectacles may be on here, but I think that for what he had and what he did with it in terms of talent and keeping this defense a top five defense on a lot of metrics from start to finish in the regular season, that seems to me like it is argument enough. It's probably a good thing I don't vote in these selections, but I think Brown has a case that is difficult to beat here.

I like Don Brown, Most aggressive Coordinator I have seen at Michigan but,

1)   Get Voted over Pruitt & Alabama's Defense.  They haven't allowed anyone

inside their 20 yard line in a month(5 weeks).

2)  Don Brown had a great year, but when we need a stop In Iowa - Gave up a FG

also the last 3 positions of OSU was FG to tie, TD in OT, TD in OT

He tied them up all game, until he needed 1 stop and couldnt do it.
