No one knows anything.  Ignore anyone who claims to know anything.  Doubly ignore any premium site currently claiming to "know what's going on, but will wait until after this all shakes out to reveal it."

Scout is just reposting the same "Michigan has a plan, and plan A is Harbaugh, and plan B is other people" thing 4 times a day.

Rivals posters created a conspiracy theory out of whole cloth suggesting that Harbaugh's candidacy was torpedoed by shadowy forces within the Athletic Department and/or Mary Sue Coleman to fulfill personal vendettas, and then has worked itself up into an insane lather about how those people who Rivals invented out of thin air must be purged before the program goes into the shitter.

I don't see why anyone gives them a penny for that nonsense. They are doing a huge disservice to the program by having so called "insiders" making shit up and convincing people of its truthfulness.

Actually, having read that DB had a penchant for sitting in on film sessions and such - might that not be a deterrent for JH (or for that matter, any other HC prospect)?

DB is a CEO.  CEOs usually want to sit back and not get involved.  However, they DO get involved when things are working right.  In a big company, there is always something not working right.  So they pick waht the most important to get involved with.

DB was in on film sessions because UM football had a terrible record the last two years.  I don't think he would have spent a lot of time watching film is UM was doing even ok (3 or 4  loss seasons in '08 and '09

is that? DB is the Jerry Jones of CFB? No way I'd want my AD in on day-after-game film breakdown sessions. Come on out to practice, fine.  Stop by the locker room, we'd love to have your support. RR obviously wasn't in a position to ask Brandon to cease and desist. (And maybe this is a RR only thing -- i.e., because of the "evaluation" he thought he needed to be that close to it).  But lord let the new coaches do their jobs without looking over their shoulder constantly. No employee wants that.  It would certainly a sticking point with me if I were a candidate for this job (which I may be at this point, Amiright?), and I can easily see Harbaugh (given his reputation) addressing this in any hypothetical negotiation.

maybe ross is working on behalf of brandon to fund harbaughs contract at UM.  i don't think it's that far-fetched for 3 guys wanting to "save" their alma mater's football program.

one can dream.

How do I know I should trust you? Aren't you in the the category of "people?" You did say don't trust people, but if you are in fact a person, then how can I trust your word that I shouldn't trust people.......? FML and conspiracies. This coaching search is starting to get to me. Non-stop rumors are good for nobody. Please Harbaugh, take Michigan's fat contract and win us a national championship. Or a few...

Eh, on paper.  But look at Meyer without Mullen as OC.  Good, but he was in trouble with Addazio.  If Urban came in with a great OC.

I'm hearing credible info that we're interviewing Gruden (my good friend's friend in the AD).  If this is true, and we can fantasize, it raises an interesting question:

Hoke as DC/unofficial Coach in Waiting with Gruden HC?  No way Gruden would stick around for more than 5 years.  Gives him a chance to develop Hoke and audition him.  No way Gruden has a substantial staff ready to move.  If Hoke loves Michigan like he says he does, he'd jump at this...
