But I could also be tired. Trying to find any news on the next UM coach is hard, If only wed Jan 12th would come. So DB could tell us already.
January 7th, 2011 at 1:29 PM ^
Could have sworn. Tomato tahmahtoe
January 7th, 2011 at 12:02 AM ^
Its all conjecture right about now.
January 6th, 2011 at 11:44 PM ^
its harbaugh. he is coming. it was all a ruse to set mkt value for his M contract. read between the lines. ross is delivering harbaugh to his alma mater on a silver platter.
harbaugh is coming.

Hope is still alive!
January 6th, 2011 at 11:35 PM ^
is bummed out right now
January 6th, 2011 at 11:02 PM ^
No one knows anything. Ignore anyone who claims to know anything. Doubly ignore any premium site currently claiming to "know what's going on, but will wait until after this all shakes out to reveal it."
January 6th, 2011 at 11:04 PM ^
So glad I don't pay for info anymore, although it would almost be worth it in times like these just to satisfy my rumor fix.
January 6th, 2011 at 11:07 PM ^
Scout is just reposting the same "Michigan has a plan, and plan A is Harbaugh, and plan B is other people" thing 4 times a day.
Rivals posters created a conspiracy theory out of whole cloth suggesting that Harbaugh's candidacy was torpedoed by shadowy forces within the Athletic Department and/or Mary Sue Coleman to fulfill personal vendettas, and then has worked itself up into an insane lather about how those people who Rivals invented out of thin air must be purged before the program goes into the shitter.
January 6th, 2011 at 11:12 PM ^
I see you know BlueMonster
January 6th, 2011 at 11:13 PM ^
I don't see why anyone gives them a penny for that nonsense. They are doing a huge disservice to the program by having so called "insiders" making shit up and convincing people of its truthfulness.
January 6th, 2011 at 11:15 PM ^
and a football obsession.
whaddya want from me?
January 7th, 2011 at 1:18 AM ^
As am I. I want better judgment, counsel.
January 7th, 2011 at 12:21 AM ^
pretty sure it's all about truthiness:
January 6th, 2011 at 11:10 PM ^
know what's going on, but will wait until after this all shakes out to reveal it."
that's gotta be tom beaver.
January 6th, 2011 at 11:11 PM ^
it's Chris Balas!
(although it is also Tom Beaver)
January 6th, 2011 at 11:21 PM ^
tom beaver was my math/computer teacher in junior high. good times.
January 7th, 2011 at 6:52 AM ^
Is that the thing Gerg rubbed in our linebackers faces?
January 6th, 2011 at 11:02 PM ^
Surprising. Not sure how that will play out at all. I might die of this soon.
January 6th, 2011 at 11:02 PM ^
now its a matter of outbidding San Fran and getting him here
January 6th, 2011 at 11:04 PM ^
Stanford
January 6th, 2011 at 11:05 PM ^
ya and forgot denver too. its confusing now that luck is staying
January 6th, 2011 at 11:09 PM ^
I'm not aware of any "Stanford". Oh wait, the place where Andrew Luck is returning to? Good point.
January 6th, 2011 at 11:03 PM ^
Interesting news. Good or bad? Idk....but you're saying I gotta chance?!
January 6th, 2011 at 11:04 PM ^
Finally an ounce of good news. I'm growing tired of being constantly bitch slapped
January 6th, 2011 at 11:04 PM ^
LOL maybe that conspiracy is coming true.
January 6th, 2011 at 11:12 PM ^
Steve Ross definitely slipped Harbaugh some $$$ under the table to take the MICH job
now we'll have to call it "The Stephen M. Ross Big House"
January 6th, 2011 at 11:15 PM ^
In all seriousness.....how can you go from offering him the richest coaching contract in the NFL and then pull it two days later? How bizarre is that?
January 6th, 2011 at 11:45 PM ^
I read somewhere today that Harbaugh wanted complete control in Miami and the Dolphins didn't want GM Jeff Ireland to be replaced, that was the dealbreaker.
January 6th, 2011 at 11:52 PM ^
You can have complete control...in college.
January 7th, 2011 at 5:40 AM ^
Actually, having read that DB had a penchant for sitting in on film sessions and such - might that not be a deterrent for JH (or for that matter, any other HC prospect)?
January 7th, 2011 at 8:54 AM ^
DB is a CEO. CEOs usually want to sit back and not get involved. However, they DO get involved when things are working right. In a big company, there is always something not working right. So they pick waht the most important to get involved with.
DB was in on film sessions because UM football had a terrible record the last two years. I don't think he would have spent a lot of time watching film is UM was doing even ok (3 or 4 loss seasons in '08 and '09
January 7th, 2011 at 9:01 AM ^
is that? DB is the Jerry Jones of CFB? No way I'd want my AD in on day-after-game film breakdown sessions. Come on out to practice, fine. Stop by the locker room, we'd love to have your support. RR obviously wasn't in a position to ask Brandon to cease and desist. (And maybe this is a RR only thing -- i.e., because of the "evaluation" he thought he needed to be that close to it). But lord let the new coaches do their jobs without looking over their shoulder constantly. No employee wants that. It would certainly a sticking point with me if I were a candidate for this job (which I may be at this point, Amiright?), and I can easily see Harbaugh (given his reputation) addressing this in any hypothetical negotiation.
January 7th, 2011 at 10:52 AM ^
So Dave Brandon is the Jerry Jones of CFB? That could be good and bad.
January 7th, 2011 at 12:22 AM ^
does anybody else worry that harbaugh is a little, um, unbelievably arrogant?
January 7th, 2011 at 12:30 AM ^
Sliminess, Age (Miles)
Who Dat? (Hoke)
Arrogant bastard (Harbaugh)
January 7th, 2011 at 8:55 AM ^
Very well put too.
January 6th, 2011 at 11:16 PM ^
maybe ross is working on behalf of brandon to fund harbaughs contract at UM. i don't think it's that far-fetched for 3 guys wanting to "save" their alma mater's football program.
one can dream.
January 6th, 2011 at 11:39 PM ^
that is a wonderful dream that I will tuck myself in with tonight. T-minus how many days until Harbaugh comes home?
January 7th, 2011 at 1:34 AM ^
if only
January 6th, 2011 at 11:52 PM ^
If this conspiracy theory is coming true then omg there was a shooter in the grassy knoll! There was two shooters everybody!
January 7th, 2011 at 12:23 AM ^
There were two shooters everybody!
January 6th, 2011 at 11:04 PM ^
Have we made an official offer to the guy? I am talking about an official/public offer...b/c people are reporting we havent even contacted the guy.
January 6th, 2011 at 11:33 PM ^
Don't trust "people". Think logically, and within yourself if you think we haven't at least spoken with the overall consensus #1 coaching pick....you are probably mistaken.
January 6th, 2011 at 11:51 PM ^
How do I know I should trust you? Aren't you in the the category of "people?" You did say don't trust people, but if you are in fact a person, then how can I trust your word that I shouldn't trust people.......? FML and conspiracies. This coaching search is starting to get to me. Non-stop rumors are good for nobody. Please Harbaugh, take Michigan's fat contract and win us a national championship. Or a few...
January 6th, 2011 at 11:04 PM ^
Would you guys rather have Harbaugh or Urban Meyer?
January 6th, 2011 at 11:40 PM ^
On paper? Urban Meyer. In reality, both annoy the shit out of me. I'm still trying to get over letting go RR and Calvin Magee et al (offensive coaches primarily.)
January 6th, 2011 at 11:46 PM ^
Eh, on paper. But look at Meyer without Mullen as OC. Good, but he was in trouble with Addazio. If Urban came in with a great OC.
I'm hearing credible info that we're interviewing Gruden (my good friend's friend in the AD). If this is true, and we can fantasize, it raises an interesting question:
Hoke as DC/unofficial Coach in Waiting with Gruden HC? No way Gruden would stick around for more than 5 years. Gives him a chance to develop Hoke and audition him. No way Gruden has a substantial staff ready to move. If Hoke loves Michigan like he says he does, he'd jump at this...
