Does the US beat Finland today? (obligatory prediction thread)

I'm knocking off work early. The US has a mountain to climb- Finland's no gimme and Canada awaits. I'm anticipating child-like enthusiasm in a couple hours, or maybe something akin to Flounder's "this is great!!".

US 3-1 today.

If both Canada and US win today, they will play for gold & silver. Then Finland and Slovakia will play for bronze. It is possible that the mens hockey could have the exact same standings that the womens hockey finised with. Canada-gold, US-silver, & Finland-bronze.

I hope that US wins and we can take the gold.

Finns have looked good, and their defense has been all but stellar. Only four goals allowed in four games.

Who do they go with in goal? Backstrom had a shutout in his only game, and Kiprusoff's let up only 3 in 4 games. Then again, some kid named Miller has a shutout too, and the best goals against in the tourney.

I'm with the rest of you... low-scoring contest with both goalies on their heads. Maybe Kane finally has his breakout game and that's the difference-- he's been among our best players despite not showing up in the box score.

The Fins have played good defense, but they haven't shown enough offense to compliment it. I think our defense and brick wall holds and we're able to capitalize on a couple of great chances (AKA, Rafalski has the puck) to take a 2 goal lead and then ice it with the empty netter at the end.

I left the office late. Had to stop for a 12 of fine Canadian lager. 1-0. Started texting with a buddy, he said you have to drink 1 for every goal they're up when you get home. Just pulled into the driveway, and I'm a 6 pack behind.

Gonna be ugly at my house in the next 20 minutes.

Unreal.

and predict a US victory. I'm at work, every time I check, the score climbs. Wow!
