Does Penn State have a chance to beat State next weekend?

Maybe they will try to test MSU's corners more than OSU did. And their D-Line with Zettel etc. may be able to do a better job holding up against the run.

Way too many things going against PSU in this one. It's in East Lansing, Cook might be back, and PSU's sieve of an offensive line against Calhoun and MSU's D-Line is such a mismatch. But, hey, weirder shit has happened.

I agree, horrific game manager.....hackenburg will be an elite QB in the NFL. Bill O'brien made him a stud because he can develop QB. James Franklin cannot deal with a pocket QB. He needs a dual threat for his offense but he is not recruiting to that yet. It's a shame......as much as I hate Penn state and what they got away with, this game should have been better.

Probably not.  At Spartan Stadium, and Penn State hasn't very been very good on the road.  Lost at Temple, NW, OSU, and beat Maryland by a point.

But, MSU could be lined up for a let down game after an emotional game against OSU.  After they fluked out against Michigan, they let IU stay around by less than a TD for a chunk of the fourth quarter, then lost to Nebraska.

Just beat the crap out of the Buckeyes. That's all the team can control and all we should be concerned about.

Good things will happen if we win no matter what MSU or PSU does.

Meh. Fuck it. Michigan is 9-2. Hio lost. Our chances of making the playoff were slim either way imo. A Big championship would be nice, but I'm cool with beating the shit out of Hio next week and a nice Citrus Bowl win over LSU. 11-2 would be sweet with a bright future ahead. Go Blue!

very sparty like to blow the last game of the season to PSU. I don't see Cook playing, so there is an outside chance. I'll be hoping for a few sparty no's that will cost them the game.

Imagine the euphoria that would take place if/when Michigan beats OSU and then Sparty were to blow it against Penn State. I mean, oh my, Sparty tears would taste better than the finest whiskey.
On a realistic side, I'd highly doubt the Penn State can beat Sparty, but there is always a chance.

Maybe a chance if Cook is out. The playing on emotion after losing Cook will have run its course, so I doubt they can run like they did on OSU. A possible defensive battle that PSU could pull out the W.

They have an NFL level QB.

They have an excellent d-line.

There strengths and weakness match up well.

Coaching is a shit show, that is an advantage to State.

We have those venerable BIG refs and their buffoon equals watching replays.

Sparty has been as much smoke and mirrors as OSU, they just out smoked em yesterday.

I don't expect a miracle, but it is not out of the realm of possibility,

Unless D'antonio can find a way to show how popular mechanics is picking PSU to shutout MSU in the road he may have a hard time being able to properly motivate his troops with the disrespect card. Hoping like hell they start counting their chickens before they hatch. They still won't have a healthy Cook if he plays at all and their secondary still sucks.

YES.

5 of MSU's 7 BigTen games have gone down to the wire.  Penn State is better than Purdue and Rutgers who went down to the wire with MSU.

MSU is a heavy favorite to win and with good reason, but there is a reasonable chance it goes down to the wire and if it does...all Penn State needs is a lucky bounce.
