I doubt they will fire him. They'll probably be worried it will make them look like they miss RR. Hell, I hope they keep him forever, the guy makes some strange decisions at the end of games.
Does Bill Stewart get fired this year!? If he does, does that impact our coaching staff!?
why would we want another DC? that would make 4 in 4 years. unless we bring him in as LB coach which would most likely not happen
They graduated one of if not the single greatest dual threat QB to grace college football, have a first year starter at QB albeit an experienced QB, and are 7-3 and you're asking if Bill Stewart will get fired? It doesn't even make sense (at least in my mind). They are having a fairly good year, will play in a bowl, and the teams you listed them being behind in the Big East like Cinci and Pitt are having fantastic years. They lost by 3 points tonight. His job is just fine.
You're right. A lot of us (and some WVA fans as well) consider Stewart a poor coach but the facts so far don't justify any lessening of his job security.
I think every coach of every team should be fired when they lose their first game of the year. That way the coach will want to win all his games. Plus it would be like fantasy football, you could just live on the waiver wire, and get a sweet coach every week that could put together a great game plan for that week.
That is all.
I like GERG, I think he'll pan out and be a pretty good coach when given good players and depth. The only way I would even consider wanting him gone is if Monte Kiffin or Will Muschamp or Charlie Strong explicitly stated that they renounce allegiance to their respective school and want to coach at Michigan.
or Larry Johnson Sr.
If you want Casteel over Greg Robinson, you're friggin' nuts.
I don't think WV is in a position to expect more than 7-5.
Since you point out South Florida and Pitt,Rich Rodriguez's record against those two schools was a combined 6-5.
It's not like WV is a powerhouse program. They are where they should be now. He gets at leas two more years. Stewart may even get lucky and Brian Kelly goes somewhere else. That bad thing is it might be Notre Dame.…ugh!
The only coach I would want from their staff is Doc. One hell of a recruiter.
