every PSU- M game in Happy Valley since they started playing in 1993. You should be able to get tickets on game day but they may not be cheap if the team records are good at that time. You can look on PSU ticket boards and Ticketmaster but right now they are not cheap.

It will be a 9 hour drive from GR to State College and there is always construction on the PA Turnpike. We stay in Altoona, which is about 40 minutes from PSU and about as close as you can get for a football game without having PSU season tickets.

If you know a heavy hitter in the Victors Club or the M Athletic Dept. they may be able to get you tickets ahead of time. Most young PSU fans are no longer friendly since they thought they would be in the Rose Bowl every year after they joined the Big 10. As we told a heckler as we drove away after winning there in 1993..."We ain't Pitt...and you ain't shit!!!"

If you need more info just message me on this thread.

I'm planning on driving up from northern VA.  Have been monitoring prices on stubhub since the season started, and have not been too pleased.  You think I'll be OK showing up ticketless, i.e., will people be selling extras outside of the stadium?

My daughter is a senior at PSU (son just graduated U of M) ... anyway the best place to stay is Clearfield, PA.  Altoona is 40 minutes past Penn State & Clearfield is one hour west (toward AA) from PSU  that is saving almost 2 hours of driving).  Clearfield is exit 120 on I-80  (PSU is exit 161).  Trust me  -  been going to see my daughter for the last 3+ years.

In 2008 stayed in Dubois (exit 100 I-80) which was ok ... rates are the regular ... no football increase (like $90/night).  If Clearfield booked  - check Dubois -  nice Holiday Inn Express.

PSU is 6+ hours from AA  -  I live in Indiana (7.5 hours to PSU).

Looking forward to a much better 2nd half this time than 2008 !!!

I have 4 tickets, actually just got them today in the mail, I'm assuming i'm in the michigan section because I bought them through the Victors Club. Our seats are way up in the corner row 91, section nku. I bought the tickets in August and couldnt get a hotel room anywhere close to State College, I think we are staying in Lamar, PA, which is about 40 min away, best I could do unless I want to spend 400 bucks a night. But couldnt pass up a chance to go to a night game at Happy Valley while i'm still somewhat young and dumb.

Its good to see all of the Michigan fans that will be heading to PSU.  I have been thinking about it over the past year and live on the SC/GA border, all of the talk has me thinking that if I can find someone that wants to make this road trip that there is a chance I will go,

I also find it wierd/cool, that if you google state college, you can do a street view inside the stadium. My impression is that it looks like they just kept throwing up steel beams and bleachers and didn't care what it looked like, then again, I may be spoiled by the beauty of the renovated Michigan Stadium.

I live 2 hrs away and really want to go to this game, but I cant find anyone to go with.  If anyone comes across tickets that arent 200 and doesnt mind a functional alcoholic tagging a long its on.

about parking tailgating? I know you can purchase yellow, red and blue parking passes but what about tailgating. And if there is any other info out there about parking that would be great. I'm driving up with the girlfriend and this will be her first michigan game and my first night game. GO BLUE!!!

Beaver Stadium is right on the edge of campus with nothing but rolling meadows surrounding it on 3 sides.  Get a pass - only $10 ...  get it from PSU ticket office.  No neighborhood parking ... don't need it (no houses around anyway)  and its party time - large style.

In 2008, I parked in a yellow lot (right behind the baseball stadium) and when I raised that beautiful M flag  -  lets just say it drew a lot af attention (I think there was only 1 other Michigan flag anywhere close to me.

If you're there early - head to College Ave.  lots of local spots for food and drink.  Actually heading to the stadium from College Ave. gets you in without fighting any highway traffic jams.  Also take I-80 to exit 161 - then 220 to PSU - do not trust your GPS, this IS the fastest way there ...  because of the hills you can see the stadium from 6 miles away !

Trust me on this  -  my daughter is a PSU senior so I have made plenty of trips to State College.
