and it cant hurt to add that track speed to the UM recieving corps

could just make it into UM, we would have a triumvirate of ridculously fast players: Denard, D.J. and Demar (is there something about the letter 'D' that increases speed?). Remember, it was considered an "upset" when Denard beat Demar in the 100 meter a few years ago.

Even without Demar, the offense will have two VERY fast skill players in Denard and D.J. I'm looking forward to seeing that speed unleashed on UM's foes in the near future.

he was riciulously good at the 400m (46.4) and was better than DJ at the 200m (21.19)

some other noted speedsters on the offense:

Je'Ron Stokes - runs hurdles for UM (this has been mentioned in the past)

Jeremy Gallon - has run a 4.38 forty

Vincent Smith - a reported (but questioned) 4.3 range forty

Fitz Toussaint -  10.56 100m, 21.79 200m

EDIT: it is to be noted that there is a difference between the initial burst of quickness (Gallon, Smith) and those with top end speed (DJ, Shaw)

Michael Shaw was the National Champion in the 200m - this kid's speed gets overlooked often, but he's really, really fast as well.

Also, the reason most people think DJ won the 100m title last year was because a kid named Toussaint was injured and didn't run at state.  He was the favorite.

Needless to say, we've got some speed on offense, that's for sure.

Edit: sorry i wasnt sure how to post the thread..Here is what it had

I was introduced to the website www.milesplit.com from a track buddy. On the website, you can type in any person that has run track in high school, and check out some of there personal bests times and what not. Not all meets and invitationals are in the website, therefore some may have personal bests that are better than the ones posted. But anyways, to save you guys some time, here are some players and their times and distances.

Demar Dorsey: 100m Dash = 10.53, 200m Dash = 21.48, Long Jump = 21-4.25 ft.

Josh Furman: 100m Dash = 11.02, 200m Dash = 23.16

Antonio Kinard: Long Jump = 21-0 ft.

Ricardo Miller: 100m Dash = 12.05, 200m Dash = 23.37, 400m Dash = 53.63 (These stats are all from 2008 while he was at Florida)

Jordan Paskorz: Shot Put = 50-3.75 ft.

Marvin Robinson: Long Jump = 22-8 ft., Triple Jump = 44-5 ft. (all from 2007, freshman year?)

Terrance Talbott: 100m Dash = 11.57, Long Jump = 22-0.75 ft.

D.J. Williamson: 100m Dash = 10.66, 200m Dash = 21.64

Some Current Players:

...about the meet from the Youngstown News.

At the center of the state, at the center of the track, at the center of the podium, Warren Harding senior DeAver Williamson took the Division I championship trophy on Saturday evening and held it aloft for all to see.

His Raiders are the center of Ohio’s track and field universe.

Thanks to two individual state titles from the Michigan football recruit, Harding won its first state track title in history with a 47-44 victory over Trotwood Madison at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.

“To do this, and to run with this group of guys, it means a lot,” said Williamson. “I can’t put this into words.”

Williamson repeated as the 100-meter dash state champion and added a 200 title out of Lane 8 to help Harding win the crown on what was probably only a B-plus performance from the Raiders this weekend.
