Division names

I'm just as violently against OSU and MICH being in different divisions as anyone else, but it does lead to a rad possibility... the Schembechler Division and the Hayes Division. Do it.

directional or something like red and blue.

I would find it hard to believe that the Big Ten would be willing to just openly say Michigan and OSU are our staples.  It is the truth but one of those non-Politically Correct  statements from an organization.

The Lakes and the Plains divisions would be cool, since most teams are situated around the Great Lakes region, or the Great Plains region. However, it will probably be North-South, East-West, or something simple.

Agreed, it's either going to go directional East/West or North/South, or they'll come up with something like the ACC where its arbitrary like Midwest/Great Lakes

Mongoloid/Nutwood Division vs. Pesky Mammal/Bird Division.

Or Delaney's G's and Delaney's Hustla's.

Or Long Division vs. Joy Division.

Or the Osterberg Division vs. the Westerberg Division.

Or the Melanie Division vs. the Collins Division.

They may need to come up with some off the wall names, I hope somethin crazy. From what we've heard so far, geography (ala, N-S E-W) is not that important.

why does everyone assume that if UM and OSU are not in the same division, the annual game is dead?  I disagree.  There would have to interdivisional games every year, otherwise we'd only have five conference games.  OSU could still be UM's last game every year regardless.  The only drawback is that it might lead to playing the game twice in consecutive weeks (last game + conference championship game).

No doubt that JoePa is a legend, but PSU has only been in the Big Ten for a fraction of the time of the conference's existence.

I wouldn't be opposed to generic names like B10 North/South or B10 East/West.

has been around give or take 100 years.   One of the biggest reasons for its reputation can be traced to the historice players that have played in the conference.   With that in mind, I suggest that Illinois be in a Division named the Grange Division; Michigan be placed in the Friedman or Harmon Division.
