Dillon Baxter Illegally Contacted by 5 Teams.. NOT!
In the letter, dated July 1, Garrett wrote that he spoke with Baxter and "he has now confirmed that he did not receive a call from your institution. Therefore, USC has no intention of pursuing this matter further. I apologize for any inconvenience or embarrassment this matter has caused to you and your institution."
Someone said before on this board that this situation reeked of Kiffin... Good call!
Edit: I'm sure there's an award for you somewhere on the internet, Johnvand.
I can't wait for Kiffin to inevitably fuck up in a big way and attract NCAA attention again. Will be fun to watch USC really crash and burn.
Watching the early stages of crumbling as we speak. Seantrell Henderson's departure is the just a small sign of what is to come. With all the lying and semantics that go on at USC it will be a matter of time before they are back to the Paul Hackett Era. Unfortuantely all of the slime will spill over to the other side of town to Rick Neuheisel and the Bruins will be the Kings of Douchery.
I agree with this. Letting the Jr's and Sr's be free to leave is not big deal. The only upperclassmen who ever leave programs are the ones who aren't going to play anyway. However, losing the highest rated recruits that USC had on that team, and one who had 4 years left of eligibility, is a big blow. That 2010 class was the last full one they can have for 3 years now, and losing guys from that class hurts depth. Not only that, but Seantrel was already on the 2-deep at LT before he go on campus. USC better hope they don't have injury issues at tackle this fall.
but it doesn't seem to be sinking in with recruits yet. According to Rivals, USC has 10 verbal commitments: one 5*, seven 4*, one 3* and one unranked player.
I suppose we can take some comfort from the fact that there is only one 5* and the unranked guy is a 6' 1", 200 pound long snapper.
Who knew Al Davis was right?
Not even Al Davis himself.
Bernie Lomax has more recognition and cognitive function.
Al Davis can't run a pro football team anymore, but I'd never heard him slam anyone like that before. He doesn't usually deal with things through the media. What Davis said about Kiffin made me think that Kiffin probably really was a slimeball even before I personally ever gave him much thought.
When did this happen, and where can I find it?

There is also some press conference footage on the Tubes (fast-forward to about 1:00):
Ok, now I remember that. I thought you guys were talking about something more recent. I actually forgot for a while that he coached for the Raiders, which was why I was confused.
"With all the propaganda and the lying that had been going on for weeks, and months, and a year, and time..."
The was profound
someone from USC not telling the truth? This one is on Mike Garrett. He is the Kwami of AD's.
still have a job? I guess having a Heisman trophy as a paperweight helps, but geez.
a FU fax
"Weeks ago, Vols faxed over a list of every JR & SR on USCs roster to the Trojans' compliance office to alert them of their recruiting plan." Tuesday, July 06, 2010 1:00:38 PM via web
Who wants to bet that Seantrel being released had little to do with USC wanting him to make sure he wanted to be there, but rather him having some inside knowledge as to the recruiting violations that took place. I am willing to bet the conversation was very one sided after the fallout from the investigation. If Minnesota was willing to self report without getting him, it is no stretch of the imagination what USC gave him. The last thing USC wants/ needs right now is another investigation that does not include Reggie Bush, but current members of the team.
This would not surprise me in the least. USC lets him off, and he keeps his mouth shut.
That is exactly my sentiment. USC already knows they are in the doghouse and another violation right now would bury them.
