Dillon Baxter illegally contacted by 5 teams

Baxter has informed USC that 5 teams have contacted him to gauge his interest in transfering. Which is illegal since he is not a junior or senior. The teams are Florida, Alabama, Oregon, Washington and Fresno St.

What kind of penalties can they get for this? Is it possible to lose a few scholarships for that, or are there any basic guidelines the NCAA uses?

I can only continue to reference the fact that I live in an onion factory.

Listen I was an EECS major.  I only had to take one English class my entire four years, and it was all about reading short stories and writing off the wall essays that infuriated my hippy GSI who didn't believe in grades.

Thanks though, I should have known that one. :)

Engineering's not an excuse and it kind of grinds my gears when people think it is. While I was giving a North Campus tour, I had some parent get indignant that his engineering major son had to WRITE an admissions essay. They beat the techcom into us in Aero so we don't make asses of ourselves (and our school) at work. The engineers I'm interning with were pleasantly surprised I can hold a conversation (especially w.r.t. football and hockey), correct typos if need be, compose an email like a pro, and still know all the technical things you would expect a rising junior to know. This reflects well on Michigan engineering.

Also, I took a 300-level history course last semester and got a 96 on the first essay test I've taken since high school. The LSA girls behind me? Like OMG 70s! We passed!

The world looks better through maize mirror tint.

Still waiting on backup.

Jeremy Gallon.  Gallon's name is biblical,  USC will come out of this without a scratch??  Gallon and some Wolverines got something to say about that

they don't miss on a single one of those 15 players they get to bring in for each of the next three years. If they have even a normal amount of busts, they are going to be in a world of hurt in 2013-2015.

Does the Pac-X have a limit of kids that can you can recruit in any one period like the B10? The NCAA says no more than 25 at one time, but that doesn't take into account EE's. I could see Kiffin going all "Houston Nutt Crazy" and signing 35 kids the first chance he gets to restock the team. At least 10 would enroll early, and the rest in the fall. They'd be young, but it would be a way to get back to 85 scholarships quicker.

If the Pac-X does have a max per class, then this penalty will have an effect on the team lost past their probation (or prohibation) period. That brings me joy...but I guess I'm just jealous.

the only reason EE's might not count is because you can back date them to the previous class. and since their first full recruiting class after the reduction presumably won't be able to back date any scholarships I don't really see a way to catch up quickly like that, with or without signing limits.

As nice as that sounds, if he's doing things like this I'm thinking he's just acting as Kiffin's bitch.
