this guy evidently hired to work for AD
Your language is offensive!
How you get negged for this is beyond me. It's clearly a simple counter-point post to bmiddy's politically charged comment that came out of nowhere... yet for some reason he gets positive votes despite clearly starting the whole thing.
Edit: Not anymore.
from either side of the aisle.
that is such a libertarian thing to say.
I'd much rather we just sat around all day saying "lolbutts"
Maybe Baxter will be smart enough to realize that the horrible feeling Carroll left him with is the EXACT SAME thing Kiffin did to UT recruits.
If a kid was willing to play for Carroll I am not surprised he'd play for Kiffin. There isn't much difference between them. Well, except that Pete Carroll actually has a winning record. They are very similar ethically.
Ethically maybe, but not tactfully. Carroll seemed much more calculated and intelligent in his doings, Kiffin just seems to bumble along.
Why does everyone lump in Kiffin's NFL record with his NCAA record? He's 7-6 as a collegiate head coach. So no, the difference is Pete Carroll proved himself as a great collegiate coach over 9 seasons. They both have winning records.
USC is Baxter's dream school. He's from San Diego. He's been committed since he was a Freshman. It's where he obviously wanted to be all along. Yes he was dismayed by Carroll's departure, and sure he had a nice visit to Michigan, but there was very little indication he was ever going to end up in Ann Arbor. Get over it
From what I have been able to glean from various news sources, USC is going to smacked pretty hard with sanctions. If it was the football program alone they may have gotten off a little easier, but b/c there have been violations in football as well, it has the potential of a conclusion of institutional misconduct. They will probably lose all the wins from 2004-2005 and Reggie Bush losing his Heisman for starters.
My guess is they will be banned from post season and television something like the 1993 Auburn team
Quick question not just to you, which may be insanely stupid...what does it matter if they lose all those wins? Will it really effect anything they're doing now? Does any of the recruits/fans really care about that kind of stuff? I understand how losing scholarships hurts (obviously) but what effect does the loss of wins have other than a need to edit some books/wiki entries?
from 92 to 97. I had season basketball tickets every year except my freshmen year. I would have had them then too but had knee surgery the day before students tickets were sold. Back then, season tickets sold out quickly.
How do I feel about the hoops team having to abandon all of the wins from 3 of 5 seasons I was a student? It pisses me off.
The NCAA cannot strip Reggie Bush of his Heisman since the NCAA doesn't give it out
True, but a condition of winning is that your are compliant with NCAA rules and regulations.
The DAC would strip him of it.
I would suggest avoiding those news sources...
Ask UofM basketball players from the late 90's early 2000's. It makes your program smell a little funny and chases away some recruits. Those lost recruits result in poor performance which in turn chases away more recruits. The loss of TV coverage and bowl games hurts more, IME because it hurts national recruiting. I don't see it keeping USC down long, though, because their location will always keep players wanting to come live it up in LA and the talent in CA lessens the effect of loss of national exposure.
I was under the impression that that was more due to the fact that recruits didn't want to come to a program that couldn't go to the post season not the loss of wins. (Before the sanctions there was the incoming coach with little experience and pending sanction hammer to disuade recruits.) Maybe recruits put more weight on it than I do.
kiffin talked to baxter when he was a freshman, so theres no chance unless RR can snake his way in.
We may have Rich Rod's mad signing day closing skillz, but Kiffin has tanned LA babes in the offing
Baxter just received his first recruiting visit from said 'hostesses' and is therefore understandably excited. I would be ;)
And by 'hostess', I do indeed mean cupcakes.
Oh yeah, any kind of commitment requirement for a 'hostess' recruit is frowned upon.
Well have fun not playing in a bowl game for a few years, Dillon.
Or playing on television.
Good point. Glass houses and all.
