Did we sell out the Eastern Game?
Does anyone know the actual ticket sales for the Eastern game? I'm pretty sure it was not a sellout, but was wondering if anyone knew how close we were?
Any indication on how many tickets are still left for IU, DSU, and Purdue? While it always seems like ticket sales end up being good, I worry about how many people are actually coming to games.
Clarification: I know the attendance was 107,903. How many of those can we expect to be players, media, etc.?

I believe he's asking for someone to create an MS Paint image of the game on Saturday so he can count all 107K people who were there

I'm asking how many tickets were sold for the Eastern game.

"capacity" is 106k. I'm just going to go out on a limb and say that yes we did sell out for EMU and that roughly 106k tickets were sold.
With that being said maybe the University just gave them away... Seriously these posts are getting stupider and stupider. How many tickets do you think we sold if attendance was 107k?

general rule of thumb, there are approximately 2,500 (conservative) counted every week that are ushers, concessions workers and media. This goes up for the bigger games, thats how we get 111,000 in a 107,000 seat stadium.
subtract accordingly for a general idea. No I don't believe the EMU game was a sellout.

There were tickets all over the place, and I know of more than a few people who had extras they couldn't even give away. I don't think it was a sellout, and if it was, there were a lot of empty seats anyway. Nowhere near as bad as Miami last year, but it was noticeably not full if you looked closely around the stadium.
Not that it matters. 107k is still a hell of a lot of people.

When guys on the street and your friends are selling tickets, they still fall into the sold category since they bought them.

Well, of course, but when those tickets couldn't be unloaded on the secondary market, they're going to sit empty. Thus, the empty seats.

It was Rosh Hashanah. A lot of us tribe members were trapped in services (yet following the live blog during breaks).
This seems to happen to a lot of Eastern games. Once, though, the Wisconsin game was on the holiday, but at 3:30. We went to morning services in Detroit and were in our seats by kickoff.
Anyway, when you take away all the Jews, you'll note that tickets become pretty available, and the tailgates are less than.
Also: the bagels aren't as good.

I skipped temple. I had brisket the night before and went to the game.
Either way, there exists no such holiday during the rest of the games. I'm afraid that if ticket sales aren't higher, than the DSU game will be sub-100,000, since the game is over fall break.

Wait...you can substitute brisket for High Holy Day services?!?
Wait till I tell Misopogal about this! I'm calling off Yom Kippur and holding court at Slow's!

I already roll on shabbos, which is ranked #1 as a jewish holiday. Why can't I roll on the rest?

Hey, man, the Torah says "Go to the Temple," and the Big 'Beth' is the most templey-like-thing in town. If they're sacrificing Hoosiers instead of bulls, then, well, I'm not in charge of programming around here.

DSU may not sell out, but I don't think it will be under 100K. The vast majority of our seats are sold as season tickets. There's only maybe 10,000 seats (including the visiting team's allotment) that are sold on a individual-game basis. Factor in the 2,000-3,000 "extra" people that are always there and we should make it to 100K even if we sell only a small proportion of the individual tickets.

Well, Sukkot straddles the MSU and Indiana games, but fortunately that one's not a "you will spend all day in a suit and tie listening to a thrice-divorced rabbi pontificate on marriage because that's tradition" holiday.

Actually, M is not selling all the season tickets that it could because of the "downsizing" and "re-seating" that will be done as the stadium renovations are completed.
They are trying to leave enough seats (that are not season tickets) so that season ticket holders will not be forced to move their seats too far when the renovations are complete.
This year, they had package deals where you could get extra tickets to PSU and osu but you also had to buy EMU or DSU tickets in the package.

I have been on the list for years. Every year M offers me a half season. This year they offered me an 'all in' pack which gives me every game but in different seat pairs each game.
EMU seats were really good, and most of the seats this year are in the first 30 rows.
M was having an issue selling enough seats the usual way or they wouldn't have doubled the number of tickets I was offered.
