Did the students rush the field?

Submitted by JimBobTressel on

Saw a picture on FB of a ton of people on the field, many dressed in fan gear. Had to be the students

It doesn;t really make sense but it was a lot of fun! Haha the combination of finally beating MSU for the first time and 900 sent us over the edge. Go Blue!

This. Let the team celebrate but we SHOULD beat msu. I've never been so unhappy after a win. Disgusting prep and play and then the fans act like we just won the NC by beating msfuckingu with a last second FG. As Denard said: "This is how it should be."
As Bo said: "You don't storm the field for msu."

Happy with win but c'mon.

I do. And thanks to all for feeling sorry for me. LOL

Just don't see how this was anything more than a disgusting win against a bad msu team that ran the exact same gameplan they have the last 5 years. If they had Cousins we lose by 20+. Our offensive gameplan until down mid-4th quarter was "maybe they'll bite on the read this time?". We tested their secondary exactly negative 18 times.

Sorry, happy for the win. I went nuts as I normally do but quickly became somber as I realized I just treated a last second disgusting win over msu like the National Title game. I'm not a "post like crazy over every play" kind of guy. I watch the game the same way each week, same rituals. I was less angry watching the Bama game than this game. Way less. So, I stand by my "prep" comment (at least offensively). Defense largely fixed mistakes and adjusted outside of getting lucky Maxwell overthrew a wide open WR 6 times. Our offense for 90% of the game was as I said above: "Maybe they'll bite on the read this time!?!" As we watched Denard take an absolute beating. Sooner or later, as with all good defenses, it was going to come down to his arm. We didnt do it until very late in the game despite single coverage ALL DAY.

Sorry if storming the field is a bit much in my eyes. Players? Have at it! Fans? Why give msu the satisfaction of letting them think we care that much about them? We miss that FG or lose another way and everyone here is pissed. Don't candy coat a disgusting win against an average team.

If a last second win vs. your instate rival you haven't beaten in 4 years doesn't? Might be time to find a new hobby if this one never brings you pleasure.

Around here we've gone through a month of screaming for just this game plan; stick with the run even if they're stacking the box and not force Denard to not play to his strengths. You may not have been one of them following Brian's lead, but people got what hey wanted today.

I find the whole "Sam Webb, don't let them think they matter to us" mentality usually masks that it matters a whole lot o the person who doth object too much. If you really didn't care about them you wouldn't care what thy think.

And it's not really a news flash that any game you lose pisses off fans, and any game you win should make you happy. It went through. MSU gets to be sad, not us. Well, except for you.

Did I once say I took no pleasure? No, quite the opposite actually. Learn to read. You're confusing my anger at inept gameplanning for hating a win over msu. Read and then snark but you're not very good at it so I doubt it will matter. Good day.

How any criticism is met with snark but you didn't give any rational analysis.  And did you say you took no pleasure? Well, actually, yes.

I've never been so unhappy after a win.

So, yeah, unless you take pleasure in being unhappy....  You later say you're happy with the win, but you're more unhappy than ever before and happy. So maybe you want to have your personalities huddle first before you throw stuff out.

Even Brian, who's as analytical and critical as ANYBODY, his first take is "eat it MSU".  And he's even had 2 days to mull it over. You're reaction right after the game is ANGAR!!! If beating your rival for the first time after 4 years of losing and shutting them up doesn't make you happy, football probably doesn't make you happy often. If you're not happy unless you're not only winning, but winning by 40 points so you can rub it in Spartan fans faces, then you're not going to be happy very often. You take no pleasure from it. Find something else to do with your time that you enjoy more. It's more healthy.

Saturday night is a time to be excited and bask in a win over one of our biggest rivals.  Today, tomorrow, one wants to say what we can do better? Fine. But if you're not excited by Saturday, not much in college football will get you excited.

you really need to find some new things to be bothered about. As others have mentioned, the fans used to rush the field all the time. They rushed the field in '79 against Indiana for crying out loud.

This was a last second victory against a bitter rival, in the marquee home game of the year.

graduating in '88 with Bo still in place, I never thought I would see us rush the field for a two point win over Sparty. But then if you consider it was #900, and the students who are there now haven't seen a win over MSU, you can start to rationalize it. But even more, virtually every other close game we have played against MSU, we have lost (save Braylon in triple OT); maybe this is a good omen for the future. Even if in those close games Sparty needed pass interference flags to get stuck in a back pocket, or for 1 second to last an eternity. Any other time two First and Goals didn't get TD's in the only trips to the red zone, we would have surely lost. Brady has got us some Karma!!!

I rushed the field last year.  It was my last game at Michigan as a student.  Obviously Ohio wasn't great last year, but it just so satisfying after everything that happened the last three years.  A wonderful release on a beautiful day.  Wish I could have been there to do it again.

An atmosphere (New Latin atmosphaera, created in the 17th century from Greek ἀτμός [atmos] "vapor"[1] and σφαῖρα [sphaira] "sphere"[2]) is a layer of gases that may surround a material body of sufficient mass,[3] and that is held in place by the gravity of the body. An atmosphere may be retained for a longer duration, if the gravity is high and the atmosphere's temperature is low. Some planets consist mainly of various gases, but only their outer layer is their atmosphere.

Then a lot more rushed. I sat in section 18 row 2 and got on the field got a few pics then got off. Right after the game was over they announced the 900th win with a special video. I think people rushed because of the 900 th win more than anything.
