I'll consider it a relentment when he retracts that bullshit "Michigan offering more $ after Harbaugh initially rebuffed the school" report.

Rapoprt will be the last holdout who will never admit defeat. He'll be like that Japanese WWII soldier they found running around an island 40 years later who didn't know that the war was long over and his side lost.

Where is Bagheera? He claimed all along that his sources kept saying Raiders. Jim didn't even want to wait a day to talk to them. He needs a vacation to Bolivia.

Bagheera/Baloo/Lord Grantham/M-Wolverine isn't the only MGoUser who should have their MGoClubCard revoked for awhile. There were a number of regulars on this board that were adamant that there was no way that Harbaugh was coming to Michigan. Why people would beat that drum with such ardor, I will never understand.

Mostly just for being "insufferable" according to Brian.  I once got in a little tiff with Lord Grantham where he went way out of line.  I easily defended myself and others also piled on him a little.  During the heat of the battle I wondered whether the whole thread would have disappeared had the board not self-regulated.  Being a mod must suck from time to time.

Rap is not a bad guy. He's a reporter who reports in a consistent fashion that works in an all-NFL context. This classy tweet is recognition of the fact that his reporting concentrated on sources that did not have the insight or ability to comment that the Michigan-side reports did. Yes, the top NFL reporters are behind on this. So what? This is a coaching move that is virtually without precedent, and their reports did not prevent it from happening. Schefty and Rap are crediting, on a national stage, guys that don't have a fraction of their following in recognition of the fact that the little guys have this one right. And, let's be clear--there was a kernel of truth to Rap's "convinced he wants to be an NFL coach" report: at the time, JH wanted to focus on the rest of the season at his NFL job. That's why we've waited so long. So Rap probably misinterpreted some real info and reported it. No big deal.

but his little twitter war with some of our faithful could easily have been avoided altogether.  Sportswriters often inform us of the blitheringly obvious idea that most athletes should just avoid social media.  He should follow the advice as well (or at least think through what he's saying and to whom).

Of secondary importance.. Are you thinking Quintana in the Tour this year?  I came in 5th overall in NBC sports fantasy race last year!

apparently the Patriots are making a last ditch double-godfather offer to both JH and the pilot to try to get the plane redirected to Boston #Replace Belichik

I honestly don't get why people are so angry at these guys. They were reporting what they heard from their perspective; they were slow to get on board and were generally conservative in their reporting. Rapaport and Shefter seemed very professional about it the whole time to me. So what makes people so upset at them, that they were wrong initially? That they were saying things we didn't want to hear? This was a situation where everyone was speculating based on incomplete information from second-hand sources.

I'd much rather have reporters that are conservative with their opinions and wrong, than reporters who are wildly speculating to get clicks by telling fans what they want to hear.

I just don't see anything wrong with what they did, aside from being wrong. which is not a crime.

I dont care what all these reporters said, the bottom line is they were wrong and Jim is home!!! The local guys killed it and thats all that matters. Guys like Brian, Henson, Balas, etc. etc, nailed it from the get go.

Though Jim Harbaugh is expected to land at Michigan, NFL teams such as Bears, Jets, Raiders continue making overtures to change his mind. - Adam Schefter

This is where people on the site have gone too far in their ire. He's reporting that teams are still reaching out to his agent. That's likely correct. That doesn't say he's not going to UM or is considering the offers - it says the NFL hasn't given up on trying to get him

As soon as he gets the memo from the NFL saying Harbaugh has been let go by the 49ers because he is no longer welcome is when he'll admit Harbaugh might be going to college.

Again, he loses nothing being wrong here, outside of people bitching about him on the internet.  He's an NFL guy, and NFL guys are going to only pay attention to the league that keeps him employed.

They interviewed Desmond who essentially didn't want to talk about Harbaugh until he was introduced and they've been ranting about "Desmond's doubts" ever since.  Even after the contract is disclosed they are still going to be talking about the NFL stealing him after a year to "where he belongs"  We know Ann Arbor is where he belongs.http://youtu.be/78TgkgH9pNk
