Did anyone look at the 2011 Football Schedule?

Submitted by seegoblu on

SIAP, but I just took a look at the schedule for the first time since the CC.

I have to imagine September 24th will be AWKWARD...can't think of an example of a HC of a major FB program playing his former team so quickly after his departure.

I know this game was added earlier this year to complete the schedule (and possibly as a favor to the Hokester), but this game has the distinct possibility of being a trap game...motivated opponent the week before the bye...

I see 5-0 to start (again for the third year in a row). From there we beat NW, Purdue, Ill most likely. That's 8 wins with hopefully 1 win against MSU, Iowa, Neb, & OSU - I say 9 wins and all the naysayers will say things like "he's winning with RR's guys, just wait until they're gone and we will be back to the dumps again." The reality is that RR is the reason we were in the dumps in the first place, and Hoke will bring us back to beating more than 5  Big Ten teams in three years.

6-6?  are you kidding me, many  of the big ten's elite have lost significant players, and we are returning just about everyone.  8-4 is a reasonable assumption, 6-6 is just plain stupid.

Is anyone else terrified by the Nebraska/OSU alignment?  Does this mean that every other season has lowered expectations?  How many teams could win two road games against those teams in a row?

(just like Penn St. did) that the Big Ten is no joke. They will settle in the middle for the first two or three years before they figure out how to deal with the upper eschelon teams in the B1G.  BTW is Big Ten wrong now? Do we just say "big" now to refer to our conferece? I'm confused....

Not sure how people are penciling SDSU in as a win, they are better than any team we have beaten in the last 3 years, and recently teams on their level have blown us out.

no way Michigan loses the opener. The energy in that stadium, returners on D, injuries healed (knock on wood, QUICK!), and of course offensive experience/playmakers (thank you, RR)

Has anyone noticed we have a new coach?

And have you seen the stadium?  WTF are those monstrosities on either side?

And who's the gentleman of color behind the podium at the White House?

Well, if anything happens at SDSU like what happened to Ball State after Hoke left (read:  They imploded after their 12-0 regular season and Hoke's departure), then, despite the awkwardness, it should be a win.
