Devin Gardner named to Senior CLASS Award All-America Team
Ameer Abdullah won the big prize, Devin Gardner was named First Team All-American along with Chris Conley (Georgia), Tyler Lockett (Kansas State), and Deterrian Shackelford (Ole Miss).
Gardner was a damn fine representative for Michigan football and I think I speak for a lot of M football fans in expecting him to go on to achieve big things in his life.
About the award:
An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School®, the Senior CLASS Award honors the attributes of NCAA Division I senior student-athletes in four areas: community, classroom, character and competition. The award program is designed exclusively for college seniors who are utilizing their complete athletic eligibility, remaining committed to their university and pursuing the many rewards a senior season can bring.

What a great ambassador for M Football! Congrats Devin!

They should create a "Book of Job" award for Devin. I don't think anyone has stuck it out for so long under more trying circumstances than he has. I have no idea where he is going next or what he is doing, but he deserves to be a huge success at it.

...to have Devin represent us. He is a fine young man.

Congratulations to Devin!

at UM. Coaching change, system change, position change, awful O-line coaching turning him into a target, etc. But always a good kid. Never in trouble once (IIRC). Devin should get a "thank you" from us all...

He'll be an easy kid to root for on Sundays. I hope he gets an opportunity to make his mark in the league, because he surely deserves it.

Well deserved. Devin Gardner is a credit to the University of Michigan.

Stuff like this is what I mean when I say Go Blue.

Even better human and representative of UofM. Congrats Devin, I'm sure you will have a great future ahead of you!

Devin Gardner transcends football games. He is defined by more than that.
Did you know that Gerald Ford won only one game as a senior at Michigan? Yet that's hardly what defined him.

I wish him every success in life. 58 touchdowns accounted for via pass, run, or reception; played hurt; played for multiple coaches; and will depart Michigan with two degrees - wow.

Well-deserved recognition.
EDIT: And even this phrase was a dupe, as I see below, but a well-deserved phrase.

This should surprise no one. By all accounts he is a smart, classy, & selfless young man. I really wish things would have worked out better for him on-field because he deserved it.

Great guy & I'm very happy he chose, again & again, Michigan.

CONGRATS to Devin Gardner for this well deserved recognition, and
THANKS to the MGoCommunity for supporting him!
My hope is that he follows his good friend Denard Robinson to NFL accomplishments, and enjoys a happy, healthy and productive career and life wherever the road may take him.

Wish he was around long enough to gain some one on one time with Harbaugh. I bet Harbaugh could've worked wonders with Gardner, but alas, not meant to be. Either way, the honor is well deserved for Gardner. Not the best QB, but find me a man who's given more to this program than Gardner has. He deserved better from Hoke and Co.
