Devin Gardner granted medical redshirt
are they not worried, or are they crying?
Haz confused.
I don't always become confused. But, when I do, it's because I am trying to understand a Buckeye.
Stay out of Ohio my friends.
Gardner's ceiling is ridiculous. He is a gamer and if he makes even moderate progress over the next two years, will be an absolute terror for B1G defences. Outside of maybe landing Hand, this news is far bigger than any Hello post we could have gotten.
This sentiment exactly.
I am treating this news as a bonus 2014 commitment and am celebrating accordingly. From both an offensive continuity and QB development standpoint (allowing Morris and Speight to take their time developing, barring unfortunate injuries), the Gardner redshirt is a huge deal.
Disappointed. This meme after three years has now come to an end.
Don't worry, now we can have the weekly debate on if Devin will go pro early. I am guessing that will be a weekly thread - good game will have panic that he will go pro and if Morris will be ready, bad game will have "I told you so" threads on why he isn't a pro QB.
Woohhoo!!!!
Devin Gardner
i cant wait to see a senior Gardner vs a senior Miller in 2014. That game is going to be sick!
Might help in recruitment of D. Harris also, should now be able to bring better quality receivers all around.
Two Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honors in just 5 career starts!?! Yes, sir, I will have some more!
Honest question: Do you think he will be better than Morris? Or just excited that he gets two years? Usually those high profile guys like Morris don't want to wait until they're juniors to see the field/redshirt? Just curious.
Devin was:
ESPN 4* (81) 128 overall 5 QB
Rivals 4* (5.9) 132 overall 1 QB
Scout 5* 37 overall 5 QB
Morris was:
ESPN 4* (84) 127 overall 3 QB
Rivals 4* (6.0) 81 overall 4 QB
Scout 5* 24 overall 3 QB
So I'd say they're pretty evenly hyped, although I know Morris took a bit of a dip at the end of the cycle that probably would have given him a halfway decent edge.
The question is will RS Senior Gardner be > RS Freshman Morris?
The answer is "yes."
USC recruits one great QB after the other, and they wait.
Is Kenny Guiton a post-op tranny or just a cross dresser? He looks like he could be either, or just a RuPaul wannabe. Just Curious.
Rod scored when it comes to QB recruiting. Glad Tate losing his wings didn't cost Devin his redshirt.
Let's drink!!!
Drink worthy
Hell.... This is heroin worthy.
I used to do a little but a little wouldn't do so a little got more and more.

haha
solidifies that position, and allows us to go into 2014 with a very solid team led by a senior instead of a freshman.
HELLO HEISMAN!!!!
Cart is three states ahead of the horse there.
Celebration time!
Here for the posbang!
DG to DG for two years. DG^2 at QB and RB.
Scholarship counts for 2014. One less from an already small class.
/aintcomplainin'
Am I too late for the posbang?
RE: Should we be concerned about Shane Morris wanting PT? I think not. We don't want to be in a situation where true (or even redshirt) freshman are getting significant PT at QB, that's a recipe for disaster in most instances. Morris can redshirt this season, backup Gardner in 2014, and have 2015, 2016, and 2017 to go wild.
Best text I got today.
Not a bad week in Michigan athletics.
Since Devin just received his fifth year and is graduating in May 2013. Should we worry about Wisconsin trying to sway him to be their qb in 2014? Everybody know that is how they get their qbs.

He's gone after 2013 regardless.
/ heisman'd
/ national championship'd
no field is required.
That's great thinking right there.
Gardner Redshirt Boosts UM with Harris
Sam Webb has a story up over at scout.com about the Gardner redshirt helping with Drake Harris. I don't have insider, but the title seems to give a lot away and tells what is in the article.
