Deveon Smith - injured tonight
3 mentions of his name, 3 different spellings.
i was there and brought it up in the cass tech thread.
shoulder injury. had 2 carries (one a complete beast mode 20 yard gain with about 3 broken tackles that got called back for holding) in the first half, the second one he went down for a minute or two and walked gingerly off.
halftime he came out early to warm up, crowd went wild.
1st play of the 3rd quarter he had a small gain and walked off. 5 minutes later he had his pads off and didn't come back.
lingering shoulder injury from last week at ashtabula lakeside. he was splitting carries when the game was still in the balance when normally he's going for 30 carries a game easily. he's howland's entire team, line is small, receivers are slow and unathletic, they just feed him over and over.
hopefully he's okay going forward.
lemme go to jjhuddle to see if there's any more info as there was a 100+ post thread on the game tonight.
at jjhuddle (ohio hs football forum) says it was a separated shoulder that got popped back in at halftime, then aggravated again the first carry of the second half.
So I'm not a doctor, but AFAIK a dislocated shoulder is one where the upper arm bone pops out of the shoulder socket and can be "popped" back in.
A separated shoulder basically has nothing to do with your arm, it's about your collarbone and your shoulder blade stretching the ligaments apart at the top of your shoulder and it doesn't just "pop" back in.
Doctor types feel free to correct me
As an experienced separated shoulderman, I can confirm what you're saying.
Dislocation = head of the humerus comes out of the socket. Depending on severity, this can be popped back in
Separation = acromioclavicular joint (where clavicle meets the scapula) injury. Treatment for this can range from rest to surgery. Very, very painful too.
It's bad enough Fitz isn't making the trip, now Deveon Smith is injured!
Are you drunk?
Deveon sounds like a really good kid (a typical Hoke recruit). I hope it's not too serious like Ty Issaac's injury.
DeVeonn lives down the road..He will probably miss some time and they will cut back on his workload..i dont like Howland so i say im glad it wsasnt a knee and i couldnt care less about him missing time as long as he is ready to go for Michigan..And i say this with respect for the kid..he is what we want in a Michigan RB
The horrible spelling in this thread is embarrassing.
I think it was 1 guy...and the rest are mocking him..but you never know..because this is the internet
