of 81 was consiserably worse than this year. My county had snow plows from the 1960s as they could not afford new trucks due to the economy the entire decade of the 70s.

It would take several days to clear 6 inches. This year I had a 16 inch lake effect enhanced storm. It took less than 24 hours to clean the roads. Today we have more miles of roads than 1981.

So yea. This winter is chump change.

Perhaps it is just me, but this is one of those records that I was hoping would stand and that we would not see snow again this season, but then I forget the state in which I was born and raised and, for some reason, still live. I sort of see it like certain records or milestones in sports where they were set and you don't want to be that person - like the .215 lifetime batting average of Mario Mendoza.

Congratulations.

We've had 115 inches so far with more coming tomorrow. It's not bad, though--last year we had 135" and had 50" just in April, plus a few in May. It was absurd.

And until last week almost none of it had melted off. My sidewalk had five foot snowbanks on both sides--it was like Hoth.

But 95" is a lot for Michigan and more than our "average," so it's nothing to sneeze at.

Throughout the winter it warms up over 32 quite often and the snow melts, it rains it all melts..  Further up north when they get a record snowfall it shows
