it just goes to show picking games against the spread is damn hard. Know many professional gamblers? It's a lot easier to be a pro poker player than to pick games.

Absolutely. The Vegas lines are almost always dead on.

with the local teams? Presumably they know more about them, since you know, they cover them. Actually, it's probably worse!

Agreed. It always amazes how dead on these spreads are. Its basically a coin flip (at least for me)

It's the odd makers job to make the winner a coin flip and those are ridiculously close to 50/50 with quite a large sample size. They're 485-499 combined which is 49.2%, do these people do analysis on high school recruits? lol
