Detroit News B1G Football Primer

Submitted by umbig11 on

There are several UM players mentioned in the primer. None of which are a surprise to those that follow the Wolverines. However, you get a closer look at how some of the other teams stack up. One team that stood out, Indiana has a top 3 OL, RB, and a rising WR. No mention of Prudue or Illinois, other than bad news of course.

Is it wrong that I'm hoping that we beat OSU due to a late game mike weber fumble? Is that too petty?

How about a Mike Weber opening play fumble picked up by Rashan Gary and returned for a TD that starts the Game like last year's Northwestern game?

Poor IU. If they ever had a defense that could at least stop a nosebleed, they could make some serious noise. Would they ever win a conference title in a stacked eastern division? Doubtful. But they could win 8-9 games and really challenge for a NYD bowl.

How does a guy who is 3-30 vs. FBS teams keep his job? Money talks, apparently. According to the Indianapolis Star, Purdue saves $2.1 million if it waits until Dec. 1, 2016 to fire Hazel, who is 2-22 in the Big Ten. So check back for Hazell’s status on Dec. 2.

Well, I mean, Purdue put an ad in the West Lafayette paper and got two replies, one from a guy who died the day before the interview, so you take what you can get, I guess.

I think Indiana will take a step backward, even with their (relatively unproven) talent on offense and excellent offensive coaching. Hard to imagine the new guy is on Sudfeld's level.

On the other hand, Indiana will still be dangerous this year, and they're right between Iowa and OSU on our schedule - pretty much the definition of a trap game, if you believe in that sort of thing.

Received it as a birthday gift from my sophomore UM son.

Great content, real previews on all BIG teams. Worth the $15 and you help support Mgoblog. Surprized by the additional content to that of the blog.
