Thread title makes it sound he's transferring. Article seemed to disabuse the reader of that notion. Perhaps edit the title to reflect this point.

Yeah, I'm not freaking out over this one.  I doubt either Beilein or Burke want Burke to log the kind of minutes he's been logging on a yearly basis.  Brundidge will get his opportunity, this year Burke had to get blooded and then the stakes became too high to let him sit and even when he did Stu is a capable replacement.  Next year when Stu is gone, Burke is proven, and early season games will give playing opportunities he'll get his minutes.  His comments in the article seem pretty clear that he's(if not happy) understanding of where he's at.

Detroit News: Even though nobody has mentioned that you're even thinking about transfering, we noticed that you're not getting a ton of minutes this year, and we'd like to be able to write 'Transfer' in our article title. So are you going to transfer?

Brundidge: Uh, no.

Aside from this nonsense, though, I thought the article was pretty good.

of thought that it was just assumed at this point that he was going to transfer. Just sayin.  Guards and big men are two different things entirely.  Big men often have to put on weight, bulk up, etc. before playing.  But on a team in search of depth at ball handling positions, it is very strange that he has not played at all.

There are tons of acceptable reasons why a kid would transfer from a school, but if you or Carlton are thinking about it because of playing time you are crazy.

Potential  point or shooting guards on scholarship next year.

Burke, Brundige, Vogrich, Stauskas, Hardaway?

Vogrich can't handle the ball that much and Stauskas is a 6'6" freshmen.  He'll have every opportunity in the world to get tons of playing time at the 1 and 2 next year.  To get down and transfer due to playing time is silly........Now the forwards and centers nest year are a different story.  Beilien is going to have to do a masterful Phil Jackson routine next year to keep this team together, because you are going to have at least 2  forwards very unhappy with their playing time.

Hope the kid puts in alot of work in the offseason. Not that he didn't before he got to Ann Arbor, but he's probably got a better idea of what he really needs to work on and how specifically to go about improving. We need a backup PG as that will help Burke and the team. Because right now we struggle when he is not on the floor. Kid was a dog in high school and I hope he develops into one at the college level.

This would have been a very nice title:

"Detroit News: UM's Carlton Brundidge shoots down speculation that he'll transfer."

Good to see the kid dismiss transferring rumors. He will work hard and prove himself to get as much as he can next year. Great character, thats what we want from Michigan men.

And there was an earlier thread in which people claimed there were rumors about just about half the team transferring. It's likely most of these rumors were started on some message board or another and have no basis in fact. The following was in an annarbor.com article from yesterday on Beilein being "ahead of the recruiting curve":

Beilein said he doesn't anticipate any departures or scholarship openings for next season between now and the spring, so at the moment, his [recruiting] work for next season is done.
