DeShawn Sims PIT Stats

Submitted by EL_Wolverine on
I didn't see anybody post on how Sims did in the Portsmouth invitational so I did a little searching. He led his team with 16 points and nine rebounds, but they lost 56-90. In the first half went 2-8 from the field and only four points and two boards with a block. He heated up in the 2nd half going 6-9 for 12 points and 7 boards. His final stat line went like this: 16 points(8-17) 9 rebs(3off 6 def) 0-1 for threes, 2 TO and one block. The other team had Wisc Trevon H(12 pts 5 ast.) and NW Deon Thompson(13 points 10 reb).

His inconsistency bugged me at times, but I always liked him. Hope he does well in the future. I'll always remember feeling terrible for him after we won at Minnesota and he was interviewed, just seemed like such a sad way for his senior year to go. Best of luck to Peedi.

...1-2 for the tourney. In their last game, Sims came off the bench to lead his team to a 94-83 victory. He led all scorers with 21 points. Sure looks like he had as good a showing as can be expected.

I don't see Sims having a productive NBA career (or one at all). He is consistently inconsistent and I think he'll get smothered by NBA D. I hope he proves me wrong. Seriously.

.... A2.com story
[Sims] didn’t sense his stock rose during the camp, but many NBA scouts and agents made contact with the Detroit native during his time in Virginia. Sims declined to go into specifics about his process with selecting an agent Saturday other than to say he had yet to pick one. Right now, improving his game is more important. “I just got the feeling to keep working,” Sims said. “It’s not about stock getting up, it’s about getting better for me. As long as I’m getting better and in the gym every day and have good people around me, that’s all that matters.” Sims said he plans to return to Michigan on Sunday and attend the Wolverines' year-end banquet Monday evening. After that, it’ll be continuing to work out as he waits to hear from teams that would want to bring him in for individual workouts.
