that is nice bonus change
Derryck Thornton Jr. Vs. Jalen Brunson
I have ZERO faith that Derrick Walton will stay all four years
Walton is a talent. I would be shocked to see him here as a senior.
Much more likely a Thornton Jr/Winston/Goodin battle than Brunson being an option.
You really think Walton will be here for his senior year? Come on.
Yes, its more likely he is here 4 years than an early entry. He is a Yogi Ferrell type, not Trey Burke.
You've got to be willfully ignoring the rapid, radical improvements of most guards under John Beilein, especially the Year 1 to Year 2 leap.
Couple that with the early entry landscape of college basketball, the fact that Walton was immediately an all-freshman player in the B1G, and you can pretty much take it to the bank that his junior year will be his last. If that. The kid is gunning for the league.
Yogi Ferrell is not an adequate comparison to Walton. Ferrell was surrounded by way less talent, in a far less guard-friendly system.
Most players make a leap Year 1 to 2, regardless. Trey and Darius. Not a long track record.
Yogi Ferrell was also was immediately an all-freshman player in the B1G and is a 4 year guy. Far less talent? Oladipo, Zeller, Hulls, Watford = less talent? LOL. And Indiana's system is plenty guard-centric, which is why guys like Zeller and Vonleh oft dissapeared.
Dylan at UMhoops will do a report card and he is on record saying he did not grade out well in PnR compared to past PGs and he does not have Darius' height or Trey's length.
I'll take it to the bank he is a 4 year guy, unless he is anxious to get out of AA and spend some time in Europe.
much different role than Burke or Morris did as freshmen. Nik and Caris gave them different options and allowed Walton to ease into the system. We will know much more about his game next season.
I agree. Walton is a talent, but from what I have seen so far, he is not an early departure threat...yet. lets see what he does this season, but Walton has not stood out as an elite talent yet (AKA Burke as a freshman, Harrison at UK, Harris, etc) which he would need to do before electing to leave for the draft.
Dont underestimate his exceptional performance at EL. he was AS CLUTCH AS IT GETS. This easily maybe a case of being held down due to the NBA players in front of him.
had no idea Oladipo, Watford and Zeller suited up for Indiana last season.
Long track record? I said guards. That's a lot more than Trey and Darius.
Agree to disagree on the 4 year thing.
What does IU last year have to do with a freshman Yogi and why would other guards development factor into PG development? *A lot* is also arguable.
And Thornton not Thorton
And bud, not buddy
but your grammar was really bad man, please re-read your OP and edit it, should always do that anyway, proofread your posts before pressing save.
I'll take either player, let's hope we get at least one of them
Do you know sentence structure? , , ,
Pot, meet kettle.
too ironic for me not to log in and comment.
Be in the NBA. I want the kid that commits.
I hadn't seen it done yet, so here it is.
Thornton Jr already has an elite handle and first step. His vision in transition is top notch, I'd like to see more footage in the half-court. He also wears clowns shoes which means he probably has another couple of inches to squeak out. Already has a floater, just needs to keep working on his strength, range and pull-up jumper.
Brunson reminds me of Traevon Jackson but with an elite jumpshot and better decision making.
Thornton Jr > Brunson but both are 5* future NBA players regardless of where they go
Cannady, Winston, Goodin, Murray (better suited as a 2),Ramsey are all solid back-up options.
As I said before, Brunson is most likely UCONN, VILL,MSU but some people are still delusional.
You actually have some good points. It is too bad no one listens to you because you're also a colossal douchebag. You just can't have a post where you aren't some level of cocksucker.
Jesus Christ, care to give an example?
"Douchebag" is so overused that the only thing I can conclude anymore is that you say that word when you don't like someone.
Why pick the post where he's contributing something to rail on him?
He may be a "douchebag" (whatever that means to you), but you seem like a fucking prick (I think that insult has a much clearer meaning).
Seth Towns believes he will be getting an offer on June 15, and we may be on commit watch. I think he would be a nice start to the class. He is smooth, long, and plays with passion. He needs some Sanderson in his life, but I see a very solid stretch 4 prospect with the potential to blow up some IMO. Could replace Chatman if he pans out as projected.
