@MGoShoe I'm not gonna reveal my source, but it's the same person that told me Jake Ryan tore his ACL before it was announced

I know the vast majority of Michigan beat writers and no one else has this news. No offense to the blogger, but I've never heard of him and will wait to get confirmation from respectable (known) sources before I think about this.

This isn't the 20th century anymore. With social media, I think most Michigan related injuries have been reported first from students on campus which eventually filtered back to the the beat writers who disseminated it to the general public.

Beat writers breaking stories = Joe Schad reporting on ESPN. Don't get me wrong, I think the beat writers offer great inside looks into the program and players, but injuries and other breaking news usually comes from the students.

Fair point, but beat writers have way more connections within programs than most and are paid to be on top of the beat 24-7. I'm not believing anything until I see it from multiple trusted sources.

And the Schad comparison is a bit of a stretch. Few know more about what is going on inside Fort Schembechler than the beat writers. I assume that when you say students, you mean GA's or people on the inside. I don't think the engineering department knows more about the football team than U-M beat writers.

Beat writers may have insiders, but students go to class and live with these players, student managers, and other student athletic dept staff. Most of the injury information that has come out in recent years has been coming from the students on campus. Insiders also may be hesitant to reveal injury information--Michigan and Hoke have been very reluctant to let injury infomation out.

Everyone needs to take a mental break... This kid is a true freshman (yes very talented) but there is a ton to learn in the passing game before a true freshman is really ready to be an every down back.  With Fitz, Drake Johnson, Hayes, and Rawls I see NO REASON to rush him onto the field. Get him healthy and then see if he could be an upgrade.

Yeah, this isn't great, but it's not the end of the world either.  He was going to get many carries against CMU anyway, but now he'll have a week to practice before that game, get some carries that don't mean a ton, and have another week to practice before ND.  Not ideal, but not the end of the world either.

I love when people say they won't reveal their source.  This is a sprained ankle, not a threat to national fucking secuity.
