Dennis Norfleet has Detroit King in the PSL hoops semifinals

Apparently 2012 RB commit Dennis Norfleet is quite the terror on the basketball court.

Norfleet is reportedly a gritty point guard and a tenacious defender.  The money quote:

"I've been coaching him now for four years, but I'm still amazed at some of the things he does," said Brooks. "He wants to win no matter what. If he has to dive into the bleachers, he will. If he has to guard a 6-8 guy, he'll do it for his team."

Not bad qualities for a rb/slot either.

I'd rather have him active in a sport (strengthening his muscles, and in turn stabilizing his tendons, so that he doesn't injure something when summer football practices roll around) rather than sitting around getting weaker.

If Fred Jackson were comparing his running back's basketball talent then i would imagine he would proclaim Norfleet as "grittier than Novak yet faster than Burke with Jalen's wit."

i like hearing these kinds of things, a small guy who isnt afraid to take on much bigger guys. That type of mentality will help him at an RB or Slot position for sure, blocking and using his body.

As a Renaissance student, I definitely glad Norfleet is graduating. He has been a terror for us the last few years on the basketball court and football field. Glad he is a Wolverine.

If there is one guy in the incoming class that will challenge to join the grit pantheon (2011 members: Molk, Van Bergen, Odoms, V. Smith, Kovacs, and Robinson), it is Norfleet.

I wish I had the link, but his play in the MaxPreps 7on7 at IMG in Florida where he smacks face first on concrete at full speed and bounces up 2 seconds later and plays the next play is one up there with Denard patting Gholston on the butt after Gholston tried to break Denard's neck.

I am just curious of what others think about Dennis on the football field. Speaking for myself, I believe he is an absolute playmaker, and i am eager to see him suit up in the maize and blue. His highlight film, in my mind, is very impressive, he has blazing speed, and he is very well built. I believe as a junior he will see valuable playtime and be a solid contributor for us. We can only hope!
