LIST OF WWE PERSONNEL?!?
Move over, Jordan Shipley. Denard needs to be 16.
I don't think a guy listed at RB can wear 16 in the NFL
He's playing RB for the Jaguars, so his number needs to be between 20 and 49 per NFL rules.
Since the Jags are listing Denard as a Running Back his number has to be between #20-49. Were he a WR it could be #10-19, #80-89.
Maybe that's why he wanted to be a WR?
EDIT: Beat to the punch, so here's a link:
• Quarterbacks, punters, and kickers: 1-19
• Running backs: 20-49
• Wide receivers: 10-19 and 80-89
• Tight ends: 10-19 and 80-89 (or 40-49 if those ranges are taken)
• Centers: 50-59 (or 60-79 if that range is taken)
• Offensive linemen: 60-79
• Defensive linemen: 60-79 and 90-99
• Linebackers: 50-59 and 90-99
• Defensive backs: 20-49
There should be a Denard exception.
After being drafted by the Saints, Reggie Bush asked the NFL if he could wear #5 and he said he'd donate (some? all? don't remember) money towards Katrina relief. The NFL said no.
...as fun as watching robots on an assembly line build a Honda.
But this guy's chair is freakin sweet
Is it true that Andre Kirlenko gets fined for wearing 47 every game? Cause he wants to be known as AK-47. I remember hearing that somewhere but I also remember thinking it's horseshit.
How is this rule enforceable at all? What if I tell the referees that every player on my team plays at every different position on the field? Then I can assign numbers at random. During games, I can simply claim that I happened to never call a play with player XX at position YY corresponding to player XX's number.
Seems an arbitrary rule to me, unless there is an NFL rule forbidding players from playing at multiple positions.
...the NFL is remarkably strict about these things. They have someone at each game making sure that uniforms are w/in NFL guidelines. A player can be fined for having his socks too low, for example.
injuries, active roster, and depth chart have to be turned in a dew days before the game starts.2nd you can't switch numbers in the NFL like Kiffin did at USC last season.
You don't ever have to publish or hand in an official depth chart.
Call him a WR. That's what he worked out as at the combine. Clearly he's a hybrid player so he'll be used in both roles and there aren't positional roster limits/requirements. Hopefully, the number frees up and Denard is back in his familiar 16.
A player can not request a number change till the following year, at which time denard would be responsible for purchasing every jersey with his name on it
All jerseys in stock
Players routinely change numbers in training camp as numbers open up with cuts. Donta Hightower (a first rounder) wore 45 in Patriots camp last year and switched to 54 before the first game. I'd be surprised if that rule were in place for a fifth round pick less than a week after the draft. And buying every Denard jersey today would cost nothing. So there's hope!
listed as RB on their roster and he was #11
His first year with the Lions, Logan was listed only as a KR/PR, so he could wear WR numbers. If a player switches positions, they don't have to switch numbers unless they are moving from an eligible receiver to an ineligible receiver or vice versa (which is why Bears WR Devin Hester still wears #23 - he was a CB his rookie year).
He's a running back, so I'm not sure he can wear 16.
I see he's back up to 6'0! So weird how he shrank and then grew in such a short amount of time.
Matter expands in heat. Denard is bigger. (Yes this even applies to Dilithium)
It's starting to be real, real easy for a guy like me of dual college fanhood to root for Jacksonville.
7 players from Michigan schools on that roster, nice
Toney Clemons is on the roster as well. It looks like he had a few catches last year.
Just won't look right in anything but a #16 on the back of a Michigan uniform.
Listed as a RB. Not surprised but I was curious to see if he would listed on the initial roster as WR.
Cool. I can't wait for him to light it up.
Didn't see this posted elsewhere and can't start my own post, but a few updates on other Michigan players:
Roundtree signed with the Bengals
Demens to the Cardinals
Haven't seen a Kovacs update, but for those still following Sam McGuffie, he signed with the Raiders... which somehow makes sense.
Apologies if I missed this in another post.
Kovacs to the Lions. Mealer to the Saints. Omameh to the 49ers.
Also, Mealer will wear #61, and Roundtree will wear #86.
Kovacs to the Lions? I thought he was going to Miami. Did that change?
IPhone auto-correct. Yes, Kovacs to the Dolphins...
Did Kovacs and Omameh actually sign yet? I'm not doubting you, just don't see them listed on the ESPN Transactions page. In fact, neither the Lions or 49ers are even listed... just trying to figure out why.
Kovacs went to Miami, that way him and Denard could hang out on the weekdays.
The Bengals are the perfect spot for Roy Roundtree. Andy Dalton has a noodle arm, but he's smart and knows how to use a shifty underneath receiver like Roundtree. Plus, they're searching for another competent WR to play across from Green. If he can make it anywhere in the NFL, he can make it with the Bengals.
that Jacksonville drafted Ace Sanders
I glanced at the RB's listed on the roster and aside from Jones Drew didn't see anyone that would probably be playing in front of Denard, in my opinion. It might be kind of weird but Denard could be the feature back in a short time depending on how much longer Jones Drew is with Jacksonville.
Forsett is a career scrub, although he does have the longest TD run in NFL history of anyone who was tackled after 10 yards.
Well, they rush by committee, with a number of smallish backs, so he should fit in and get some playing time right away.
Is it too early to start discussing what round we should draft Denard in for fantasy football?
Of course he should be a first round pick. #1 overall if you are able.
Someone grabs him with pick 0? Draft Campbell and hope he scores on the fumbleruskie a couple of times?
Probably one of the most important Denard questions and maybe one that has been addressed somewhere, but will he have to tie his shoes in the NFL?
He will be fined if not
If he can get a shoe company to sponsor a shoe for him that is completely based on straps he might be okay.
Saw him lose too many shoes.
