Why would you think that? He was an elite track athlete. I ran 4 seasons of indoor track in high school, I'm sure Denard has run indoor meets before, most all track athletes do (unless they play a winter sport, but I never heard that Denard did).

EDIT: I checked the link, there was very solid competition there. Very impressive that he took 5th (though he was .01 away from not making the finals).

Im not a track expert or anything, but is it common for people getting DQ'ed. I think this is the second time this has happened to Stokes. Are there more DQs in dashes or hurdles?

but some of the people more familiar with indoor track, and the 60m races specifically, have said (and it makes sense) that in any 60m race "bad start = death". So guys feel like they need to get an edge at the start, which results in a relatively high number of DQs.

considering that coming off the starting block is Denard's biggest weakness. He doesn't come off very well and tends to come up high instead of low(a pretty similar principle as football in coming off the stance). If he can fix that, he can shave off at least .2 off his time which would be approx. 6.6-6.7 which is blazing fast.
