Denard - SIAP

Submitted by Lampuki22 on
This may be very unpopular but I really think that Denard is a special, special talent but that he will never be an NFL day to day quarterback and instead will play for many years in the NFL at a slot, wildcat and special teams star. So why not start working that in with him now?

Imagine an offense in which he and DG BOTH occasionally line up split behind center and the options that could be run from that set? Imaging the chaos that would cause for defenses. Imagine DR on a reverse, reverse pass or running behind DG on the option. Not to mention returning kicks. Or just in any situation where they can't key only him. Unstoppable.

When I hear that he will be the "focus" of the offense and will run for 1000 yards, this is what I think Hoke/Borges have in mind.

I love this kid and don't want to see him get hurt or misused as he was under RR. He can still take 80% of the snaps at QB too while DG gets quality time to do his thing.

to this even though it's at my expense. I guess there's no sense defending myself to this crowd.
BH is going to put players in roles that are best for them and Michigan Football but I guess I know where this board stands.
Will be interesting to look back at this someday and see how wrong I was.

"Image" the chaos he will cause as our QB since...you know...he's an all American as a sophomore with two years left. He's our QB and he has an amazing work ethic, his passing will improve and it's already decent. I have no problem with some trick plays involving DG though occasionally.

How many times did your parents drop you on your head before the age of 3?

Side note 1: Your thread title is stupid. Just plain fucking stupid. There is a section of the FAQ devoted to thread titles.

What should I title my threads? Please make your thread titles as informative as possible: "Justin Feagin" is bad. "Justin Feagin leaving the team?" is good.

Side note 2: Keep the SIAP shit at Rivals and MLive. Adding SIAP is stupid. You're basically telling the board, "Fuck you, I'm too lazy to use the search function or browse the board to see if the topic has been discussed.

Side note 3: The only thing your idiotic post is lacking is the "Go Blue" at the end. The lame attempt to prevent backlash from posting what might be some of the dumbest shit brained thoughts that ever passed through a brain.

Man chill down. No need to go on an insulting rampage towards the man. It's fine that you don't agree with what he wrote (and I don't either) but theres no need to call him an idiot. It's not like you pay rent for this board...

...there is no such thing as Santa Clause, the Easter Bunny , or the Great Pumpkin? Thank you Charlie Brown. Where would we be without your pragmatic insight? Time to hit the whisky bottle again.

How about we let the most talented guy on our team continue to play the position he has for the past two years. I don't care if he won't do it in the NFL, he can do it in college, and that's all that matters.

is that people will destroy someone for posting a topic that has been discussed 3 months ago citing reasons such as "it is cluttering up the board". Then those same people will make all these useless posts inside a thread doing the exact same thing.

hypocricy in action!

I had to read this post twice to make sure he actually said RR misused him. What? haaha exactly Maize N 804 Blue...BIG TEN OPOY...AS A FUCKING SOPHOMORE...it was his first yr starting and he dominated. This dude wants to move him to a different position and only have him take 80% of snaps? You want your best player with the ball in his hands 100% of time. I think he proved he is more than just a running qb. I cant wait to see him excel in this new offensive system.

or a return teams unit w/ DRob returning kicks

or a FG unit w/ DRob as kicker

or a halftime vending stand w/ DRob behind the counter

Yes, he could do all of these things. And I wasn't sure if Hoke would have him perform any of these roles. Fortunately, I had a lifeline remaining, so I called my friend Mr. Obvious. He said no.

And in regards to his future in the NFL, why don't you let Denard worry about that. Kinda like saying, "One day, Denard will be old, so we might as well get him started sitting in the stands yelling "Down in front! " ".

I'm in before the lock!

That topic you posted about is a very unpopular one. Denard put his own unique stamp on the history of UM QB's in 2010 and is thought of very highly, particularly as to any efforts on his part, and the new coaching staff's, to allow him to continue as UM's QB. Whether or not he is a QB at the next level is completely irrelavant. Remember a guy by the name of Antwaan Randle-El? He played his college career as IU's QB and ended up as a wr in the NFL, making key plays in Pittsburgh's SB winning season for SB XL.

Denard can have a similar career arc, or possibly even better, and it continues at UM with using him as our QB. I have every faith in the world that Denard can make the transition from the RR run-oriented offense to Borges' semi-west coast type offense. I look forward to seeing him throwing and rushing for many more UM TD's in the next couple of seasons.

We went over this already with the Tate/Denard onfeild combo that happened maybe once or twice. I have always been in favor of this but it is clear that Denard is a QB and will not move, plus I'm sure that was a major talking point between Hoke and Denard. Plus with a more pro-style offense our entire running game won't be predicated enitrely on the option threat of Denard, (two-tightend, fullback MAN offense) which will take eyes off Denard and therefore less hits. Plus I also think more of Denard's rushing yards will come from broken pass plays rather than option plays where he gets destroyed by big ten LBs. Once again I feel the lack of dependence on the option will help because there is no doubt that near the end of the season Denard was giving the ball more than he should with the desire not to get smashed. That being said, Denard will Stay a QB

Not only is the thread title of "Denard" terrible, but it says "SIAP". This generally means it's news and someone isn't sure if it's already been broken. Because why would you label an opinion piece as "SIAP"? I'm sure you know whether or not you've posted your own opinion before.

AKA, not only is the title unimformative, but it even misleads people into thinking there's news about denard.

The thing we learned this season about Robinson is his ability to apply himself to make quantum improvements in the offseason. He is doing that right now most likely. You'll never have the option of taking him off the field at quarterback unless he is hurt. He'll be too effective at the position.

Is this assessment supposed to appear every other weekend, or has the Earth suffered some cataclysm and we're caught in a time loop where humanity is eliminated shortly after someone doubts Denard's NFL potential?

I mean, he's got two more years still and he's getting better by the practice, in my opinion. By the time he's ready for the draft, I would think someone out there would be willing to nab him and make him their starter.
