Denard Robinson was label as Running Back not Quarterback during Michigan era.

Submitted by matdog05GOBLUE on

I don’t know if this is worth tread for here. But there something that I noticed and it drive me nuts. I brought Michigan calendar 2015. On May it Denard Robinson who is our Quarterback for Michigan. BUT!!!! On the calendar they print as Running Back! It one of my biggest pet peeves that some people said that he is running back not quarterbacks. But I disagree with that. How do you judge on this?

Yes he is the second highest on the list for most yards in their career for Michigan. Does not mean he is a running back right?

I'm not sure if that is an AD calendar or one that's just licensed. If it's the latter, that's probably because they didn't know any better, if it's the former that's disrespectful to lace. Either way it's annoying. See if you can get a refund.

Technically he did start at running back, although only twice. I'm with MgoBlueprint, probably just someone who didn't know any better and not intended to make a point.

Went back and looked on MGoBlue, he started one game at RB in 2009 (which I'm pretty sure has to be WMU), was the starting RB against Iowa and played but didn't start at RB vs. OSU and in the Outback Bowl.

So it's two, but one of them was in 2009.

This was hard to read man. Denard did finish his career as a running back didn't he? And yes he ranks on that list because he ran for that yardage. It doesn't matter if he was a QB, RB or WR rushing yardage is rushing yardage

This is a company who put together the calendar and didn't know any better.  I wouldn't be worried about it, and will upvote for your first post.

I think one of the reasons Robinson was so successful as a runner at Michigan was because he was playing QB. It opened up a lot of different options because defenses couldn't always account for him. That's why it's better to think of him as a QB (besides the fact that he actually played that position for the majority of his Michigan career). That being said, it's probably just someone who didn't know any better.

You borrowed 25c, can I get my Quarterback?

Eh, leading rushers doesn't mean RB, but if he was listed in RB and QB records I'd be okay with it.  He sort of split time at RB/QB depending on the season and he's playing RB in NFL.

Just like I'd be okay with the Devin's being listed under multiple positions.  I think listing funchess for TE receiving records may be entirely misleading/unfair to other TE's though.

*shrug*

I hope this was an intelligently made decision, and not some non UM idiot reading him as a player on Jags roster who is listed as RB and assuming things.

Whoa, my comment was meant to be a light hearted ribbing at the fact that his writing clearly came off as english being his second language, which made it a little more difficult to read/understand.  I assumed there would be more of an onslaught of downvoters saying "please write in english", I wanted to make sure someone mentioned that it was actually good content.

Also, the asian GSI in the upper level math class that can be a little difficult to understand? Come on man, its a little raunchy but is not exactly the most insulting stereotype.  It's not like I posted "Pareeeeezzze speaka da engrish. Sank yoo" and put a picture of Eric Cartman when he dressed as a Chinese person.

Just comes off not so funny to me at first glance. Being bi-racial I am a bit reactive to things like that from time to time. Maybe asshole was a bit harsh :) especially when clearly to me this is a case of English not being primary language.
Doesn't mean poster has to be Asian necessarily.
Also that being said it's similar, to me, as seeing any other difference in a person and being like "Con: noticed this person is different than me". To that I would say "so what?" perhaps even "so what asshole?" Depending on mood of course.

I get what you're sayin and can see how it can come off as harsh. Looking back I think I would have just said something more like "Despite some of your difficulties with english, this is solid board content and you should keep posting things like this".

I'm never one to indulge the heavy PC world we live in, but your comments are simply ignorant.

As a Chinese American, your comments were senseless, offensive, and ridiculous. You not only started with offensive comments, but you followed up with even more senseless comments.

Assuming that others would have attacked an ESL speaker absolutely does not justify your "light hearted ribbing" nor your ridiculous GSI comments. And don't get me started on your "Come on man, its a little raunchy but is not exactly the most insulting stereotype" and the rest of your ridiculous rant & "defense".

I feel sorry for you. I'm not going to continue to blast you or dissect your assanine comments...it's just sad that in today's world and, even from a practical/personal standpoint, you thought it would be appropriate to post stuff like this in a public forum. You're a waste of a good education, the people around you (family, parents, mentors), and several other resources people in need would kill for. Hope you feel good about yourself after taking a stab at an ESL person and an entire ethnic group that comprises the biggest population in the world.

It may explain the origin of the error - someone may have chosen a picture on it featuring a caption that highlighted his position. Still should've been caught in edits but we've seen some recent ridiculous examples of things in these calendars
