tell me what you guys think, made by my brother!!
thanks for posting this!!! i was the one who made it
tell me what you think, its my first video ive ever really made
Nice work. There's a lot of material to work with, eh? The jeopardy question was cool.
Keep up the good work, I'm a willing audience! Go Blue!!!
Awesome video. Great work, man. If you dont get chills watching this video, something is wrong with you.
Great work. I was wondering what were the songs you used, I could tell all but one the giddy giddy one.
Pretty good highlight video. It's getting me really really pumped for this upcoming season! I wish august would be here already.
Very solid effort. I really appreciated the use of high quality video. My biggest pet peave with hype videos is that I can't get pumped up watching grainy, pixelated clips. There was some good editing too, definitely a great first production and I hope to see more from you in the future. Can it be football season yet?
You are such an elitist.
I loved the video. My only concern is the distinct lack of epic Beckmann audio...other than that, I will proudly share this video on facebook to promote your brother's skillz.
Agreed... it definitely needs some announcer audio, at least for the first shots of the big plays.
No Denard hype video will ever be complete without Beckmann's "There he goes and they'll never catch him. Denard Robinson! Shoelaces flapping in the wind!"
That said, excellent quality.
but love the Jeopardy add in!
Is Denard had too many highlights last season to fit a regular hype video!
I'm not a big fan of the music, but you can't please everyone so thats not a big deal. But other then that i thought it was a really good hype video because honestly it got me PUMPED for the season!!
It was a good (Denard based) review of the entire season that brought back a lot of memories.
This makes me really hope we keep two plays. The Denard fake run and pass to wide open receiver. And the Denard fake pass to the flat and run up the middle.
The part around 5:55 with the pose was sick.
Watching this video got me all jakked up for September.. only a couple months away. Some good editing, I enjoyed everything except the god awful music but that's obviously just personal preference. The "turn up the lights" lyrics made sense but it's kind of distracting to hear some rapper drop a bunch of f-bombs and "nigga this nigga that" while I'm trying to watch Shoelace decimate ND's defense.
Or you can say N-this, N-that next time. Thanks
Loved the video, I seriously can't wait for the season to start. Brought back some good memories, and some not so good ones.... If only...
awful music. Just awful.
Would have been soooo much better with actual game-calls on the plays...
You should make one then.
I liked it a lot. Good work.
He asked us to tell him what we thought of the video.
Thats what i did.
So you liked it.......i did not like the music and said as much.
BFD for your opinion.
BFD for mine.
the video was a great season recap, but I have to agree that the music sucked. Music aside, very well done.
The video cuts were nice.
The music, if you can even call it that, was horrible and didn't mesh with the theme of the video. "Fuck this and fuck that" and dropping the n-word every minute should be left out of a hype video.
I'm surprised that most of the highlights aren't from the Wisconsin game since the offense was so awesome that day.
We were on offense that day?
How the hell am I supposed to wait for the season to start now? And everything in my apartment is broken because I've been reenacting plays. Thanks a lot man.
About the music? Pure Brilliance.Loved all of it, especially watching michigan run all over notre dames defense.Do you plan on making more videos like this?
well made and comprehensive
job of putting this together. I agree with some of the others about the music though. Although it is common for this adulterated language today, it's not something I like listening to and I definitely would not play it with the sound on whether my grandkids are here or not. There's some good music available of all genres without profanity. If you use these in the future I'm sure you will get nothing but high praise. Hope Denard continues where he left off last year with similar results. Go Blue!
Awesome work, I wish I could do stuff like this. First off, 5:55 was pure genius, beginning and the end especially was really cool. My only complaint would be the overuse of "n" bombs in the music (I'm not really a rap fan, I'm not trying to pick on your choice) and a Beckmann line or two cut in the background somehow would have been sweet too.
There really isn't much oppourtunity for hype videos when you have a coaching change... that really sucks.
Last season was pretty much my first season watching Michigan. Remember when all of you guys first saw "that" player? That was me with Denard. The first jersey I got was a #16 (which I'll probably regret eventually)
Also about the music- there's most likely something out there that can be hype music and represent a respectable person like Denard. I mean "All I care about is money" doesn't seem like a good representation of him. Tell your brother to listen to something like "That Ain't Classy" by Classified... that would have fit well.
Dear God I hope Mr. Robinson does great next season.
Great video and the music was interesting, however I think Vanilla Ice would have been better..Ice Ice Baby
Great Video. I posted it on my blog for Midnight Links.
Poor choice of music... Very distracting and it got turned off.
Rated G for Grandfathers.
Very slick video. Nicely done. I thought the music was a bit harsh for a highlight video but I'm just old and don't understand you kids and your rap music.
Anyway, nice job. Now get off my lawn.
How 'bout now?
Nice work, Golds, with that video.

In other news, that music made my head hurt. I might just be too old, but I sometimes think *I* could be a star in that field. Most of the songs seem to be:
Yo, yo, yo, yo ...
<drum machine><drum machine>
<drum machine><drum machine>
How hard can it be?

Set the video to this and I'll be completely sold:
"Setting your hype video to rap music... that's a paddling."
Great video man! I understand the language in the music is mortifying for our older generation or for people who just don't know or understand the culture but I had no problem with it. I might have thrown "A Star is Born" off Jay-Z's Blueprint 3 album. That would have been a perfect fit. Other than that, keep it going brother.
Not bagging on the music per se as I understand it and enjoy it. However, I wanted to play the vid for my two young sons (2 and 6 years old). I had to turn the music off (obviously) and it was weird. They kept asking me why there was no music.
Many Michigan fans are young kids and if you want the hype video played for them it has to be with different music.
..the music fits a young man as classy as Mr. Robinson. He seems to be a man of substantial faith (from his interviews and his kneeling after TD's) so out of respect for that I would of toned down the language. I am WAY OLD at 34, so anything after the "Glen Miller Orchestra" is blasphemous.
All that being said as someone who edits video I say great job coming out of the gate. The next video better be all Zoltan Mesko. Love me some Zoltan.
I didn't relize you all were friends and shared ipods. Tell Denard I said "hello" or in rap lingo "what up motherf#%ker?!"
Considering there are pics of him with the rapper Lupe Fiasco you seem to be claiming a certain moral high ground for Denard that:
1. Is ridiculous (because good kids can't listen to rap music)
2. Doesn't exist
And that's even better. Lupe Fiasco is considered to be one of the most respectable rappers right now. A very humble person. Denard can be a good kid and listen to good rap music. Doesn't make any difference.
the video was awesome, however I don't feel the music fit. It just didn't always seem to keep pace with what was going on but i give you props for it. Just keep making them!
I don't log in very often, but did to say "great job". As others have said, the music isn't appropriate for the little ones, but man the video sure is. If that was a HS recruit video... I am glad 16 plays for the good guys. GO BLUE!
Nice video. The song's not horrible, and I presume he chose it for the "Under the Lights" given the coming night game -- which is kinda neat. But the language is pretty bad and there's no way anybody with kids is going to listen to that with them in the same room. If he's that good an editor, why not steal and blend music from a few sources? Could still keep the "under the lights" lyrics along with whatever else fits.
but i thought the music was sick. I understand parents may not want their children watching it, but that is ok. Just like R-rated movies, not everything is for everybody. This is clearly designed for my generation (late high-school, college, young professionals etc.). I personally hate edited music because it is destroying the artist's intended message and hence, I was thankful for it.
Also, your video editing skills are mad legit.
All in all, you got me to watch a 15 minute youtube video and i want to watch it again. That is impressive.
Golden work. And props to the proud bro.
As for the soundtrack, I turned it down so I'd get the hype feel from the music without being distracted by... Can someone translate that first song for an old fogey? "You're my wah-wah" or "I'm wah-wah" or whatever it was?
All of the lights
As many others said, the music was a bit much but awesome video! Loved the "pose" and replayed the TD against ND about 15 times. This video literally sent me straight to the tv to see if the Big Ten Channel had a classic M game on (no luck!). I'm completely wired for the season now. I live in Chicago and have tickets to the night game at NW - when in hell is Oct 8th gonna' get here!
PS - as one poster said, I would've loved to have seen some epic Beckmann in there. Would have made an awesome video even better!
The amount of people complaining about the music is funny. Personally, I like my Denard highlights set to a little Fleetwood Mac or maybe some Maroon 5 but you've gotta let the kids be kids.
Personally I like to feel hyped by hype video music.... and rap just doesn't do it for me. I ended up watching it to this:
1. too long. But still some great highlights. I'm sure it would be hard to distill it down.
2. music that drops the "N" word several times is very uncool. I would think that a Michigan hype video would be above that.
Not long enough
Great work on the video! This definitely got me pumped for the season. The ending was fantastic with the fight song.
First, thanks to your brother for making this. He put a lot of work into it, and it's a huge joy to watch. Note that I said "watch" and not "listen to...", but here's what I liked:
1. Picked the right clips. The hard part of a vid is knowing where to draw the line on what makes a memorable highlight play, and he drew the line just right.
2. The little off-the-field extra clips were a great touch.
3. Heisman effect in the ND game was brilliant, even wish he'd held it for an extra few seconds. That was a sweet, sweet effect.
4. Great editing, knew just where to make the cuts to keep it moving without making it too choppy. I thought the length was fine.
File this under "get off my lawn" maybe, but I had to turn the volume way down about 5 minutes in and just watch. I hated the music. I shouldn't even say music, just the lyrics (the music was actually good, great rythym. But the lyrics... it was constant F-bombs, N-word, Gangsta culture, money and hoes, basically everything that Denard is NOT about unless he's pulling one of the great con jobs of all time. Of all these, it's the constant N-word in songs I just couldn't stand. I'm 40 now and I hate that word as much as when I learned in elementary school about what it meant, where it came from, and the place it had in American history. It makes my skin crawl. And I hated hearing it paired up with a kid like Denard. /rant
I really wish your brother, who is obviously pretty talented at making vids, would consider picking some music that fits Denard a little better. Also, this is just a style suggestion, but it's always a great effect to turn off the music periodically and run the live audio call from the game on a particular play, like maybe the 87-yd run against ND or something. Then go back to the music.
EDIT: ok, posted that before reading through the other comments... looks like I managed to add not a single new thing to this thread. So let me just say that I learned on NPR this morning that there is a popsicle on the market that is designed to look like David Hasselhoff (from the waist up). It's called the Hoffsicle. I've now added something new to the thread.
This is actually a great song because it's about handling the pressures of being a celebrity and here at UM, Denard is as close to a celebrity as anyone.
The music is not good. Put some broadcast announcer or dejected ND announcer over some other kind of music. This pop rap with r&b singer music gets tiring for 5 minutes let alone 15.
Not a fan of the music, though. Keep up the good work.
Watching this just makes me sad because if we would have had an avg defense we would have won a few more games and kept this dynamic offense.
It would have helped if that dynamic offense would have actually performed in the redzone . . . or shown up in the first half more often. It's tough to beat good teams when your offense scores 14 or fewer points in the first three quarters (which was the case against MSU, Iowa, PSU, Wisconsin, OSU and Miss State).
There's just one problem: it needs to be a Michigan hype video. No man is bigger than the team.
The team, the team, the team.
Borges PLEASE have some shotgun packages for this man. I know Smith took a lot of flack on this board, but I think there were some times where he would sell the hell out of the run, then all of a sudden, Denard is taking off for a big gain, or for 6.
I thought the video was awesome, and I liked the music.
OMG A SWEAR WORD!! I'll bet you're all saints who've never uttered even a remotely crass word in your lives, certainly not at a Michigan game, and certainly not in the precense of young kids. Jeesh.
good video, highlights were good. You know, overall I think the music choices could've been better (and I listen to rap music, so GOML), the opening song was alright, after that, the songs were trash. Maybe --Manio ft T-pain - All the Above.
Also, as much as I liked this highlight video, it'll have more feel to it when the majority of the highlights aren't vs UCONN and UMASS. Overall, totally unjustifiable rating : 6.5/10
Great music. It's 2011. For some, this is difficult to accept.
Good job with this awesome video……………..I especially enjoyed the personalized beginning. I am way pumped up for more Denard and a fantastic Michigan season. However you asked so I’m tellin…………..the music was inappropriate and not indicative of the high standards and direction of Michigan football. The “thug” mentality is more associated with that “school down south” in “Ohio”. Good first effort………but try and be a little more classy in the future……………..
Srsly, thank God none of our players listen to (c)rap music, AMIRITE
thanks everyone for the comments, this was a video i started at about midnight and worked on it until the next morning haa but with that being said i just used what was on my computer.
im gonna change it up a little and add some cleaner music and a few of the calls and re upload it so other people can enjoy it also
great response to the comments. You basically had two choices:
1. get super defensive about the critiques of the music selections
2. change it up a little so an even bigger group of folks can really enjoy it with no reservations.
Glad you picked no. 2. You've got an impressive creative talent there, keep up the good work.
If anything just have a clean bland version like the older crowd has been crying about and keep your first version just like it is. It takes away from your work. Keep doing a good job and once again great video.
... but I agree with many others about the content of the music. Please find some other more positive music other than the constant N-Word every 5 seconds. This is not the way to represent such an honorable person like Denard.
Really like the opening sequence...
Let's hope we have as many great plays this year -- along with a defense to match!
I sorta like when these type of highlights have commentary in response to a big play.
Nice work. Great video. Jeopardy question was a nice touch.
DENNIS BERGKAMP!!! DENNIS BERGKAMP!!!
Nicely done, though add me to the list of people who did not like the music. That horse is beaten to death above. Maybe more of a mix of music would help?
I appreciate the distribtion between run and pass. It must have been very tempting to focus on the jaw-dropping runs he had. Adding the passes showed that he has an arm too. Hopefully, he will make even more progress as a passer. (Can he get any better as a runner?)
If we only had an average defense last year! Damn you GERG!!!!!!
Now i'm ready! bring on the Rotel and queso
Is the Rotel and Queso a Michigan thing? A midwest thing? I hadn't heard of it until I came to Michigan.
It's a Big Ten Network thing. They've been one of the major sponsors of football on the BTN.
was the bee's knees
I just got slightly aroused...
That was sweet!
All of the Lights would be a sick song to play right before kickoff before the ND game, it would fit so perfectley in the situation
