I sorta referred to Kelly's insistence on forcing Denard to carry it in the article.  He thought he could "punish" him, and we all saw how that turned out.

An athlete is an athlete.  Being a QB doesn't magically make Denard a pussy who will eventually get knocked out.  Considering he was recruited to play anything but QB(mostly on defense), this kid can give and take a hit.

Pretty much spot on with how I feel. Great example by using Ringer as well, everyone thought he was to small and all he did was get every carry for MSU that year. And I hate state but Ringer was their whole team that year.

Your article is an excellent statement on the situation.  After that game I was shocked at how everyone assumed Michigan was lucky Crist was out.  Whether that's true or not, I was wondering why no one was pointing out that he got injured, and not Denard.

Here's to Michigan domination the next couple of weeks, and seeing what everyone else can do.

Just the perfect warmup to the Big Ten schedule.

I listened to his show for about ten minutes today(yesterday), and he sounded entirely defeated while speaking about Denard. He even went so far as to say, "If MSU loses to Notre Dame this weekend, Dantonio should not be brought back as coach next year."

so to summarize this thread:  When it comes to what other coaches/programs think about denard, he can give and take a hit and we can give and take a shit.

Ammunition to battle what has quickly become the most annoying negtheme of the young season. How anybody thinks that guy is at more of a risk to injury than a statue like Mallett isn't really thinking beyond the sheer number of carries. As far as I remember, Denard's last carry went for 6 while the Domers were suckin wind, so...what's the problem?

The cool thing about all this bullshit talk about Denard's fragility is that it will be answered throughout the season. Nothing better than to run it down their throats, come out with a W, and see that smile at the post presser.

Will Denard get banged up? Possibly, but don't most football players feel like 20 miles of bad road at some point in the season? Chad Henne was Exhibit A of the Walking Wounded in 2007, (even missing a few games) and he's much bigger and heavier than Denard, and didn't set up most anywhere except the pocket.

upon reading that?

Just one more reason to love Denard and this season, if it continues as such: NCAA 12 will have our QB starter be #16, and will have his speed higher than the hilariously low (91-92? I forget) amount that it is now. Immediately on getting NCAA 11, I scoffed that he was not a 98-99 speed, and knew that it was because we weren't in the spotlight. Well now people have heard.

video games obviously dont matter, but it goes to show how we are climbing back, baby. feelsgood.

shoelaces of fame. It's still fluff. I'm not saying he can't and I'm hoping he can continue putting up astronomical numbers while leading Michigan to victory. I believe what the coach says, that all this praise is poisonous. In support of Denard, I'm not ready to swallow what the media putzzes are saying. They didn't like us before, and they'll find reasons to hate us again. Other than that, carry on Michigan football and yeah, Go Blue!

football is about taking punishment.  probably the most violent sport in america (i say america because there are some blatantly obvious violent sports around the world that make football look well not as violent).  either way you look at the game you will see collisions, the awesome thing IMO is that our athletes are most probably healing better due to their hard work in the Barwis system...no one individual is imune but flexibility and core strength is the key and our players have that!!!!   GO BLUE!!!
