Denard for President of Everything Michigan Related

Submitted by andrewG on

I'm sure this is buried somewhere in the 170-some comments of the previous Denard thread just a little further down the board, but I believe this quote, after Denard rushed for 127 yards and a TD against the Browns, warrants a thread of it's own:

Robinson, a former Michigan quarterback, was asked about his career day.

"Good to do it against an Ohio team," he said.

Now THAT is a Michigan Man. [source]

by doing that dance when Gene-Gene The Dancing Machine came on.

The Gong Show was universally hated by all  of the moms...which only made it all the more appealing.

As I noted in the other thread, I think you remember his second play, or his first play from QB. His first play was for no gain. His second play was the 43-yard fumbled snap "look at that speed" touchdown. If we owe the guy who gave his heart and soul to Michigan one thing, its accuracy in memory.

We can pay him 15 million a year and he doesn't even need assistant coaches. He can run to every recruit and be home by dinner. Same with practice and camp, he can run to every position and coach everybody.

I will always consider Hoke's biggest failing to be making Denard fit what Hoke wanted to do.

Denard's soph season, the only one he started, was one of the great statistical seasons of all time.  2500+ throwing and 1500+ running?   I still get sad imagining two more years of Denard with RichRod.

Hoke has been a lightweight with an arrogant attitude.  I dont expect him to go anywhere and start beating top 10 teams.

No. What made Denard dangerous was his ability to pass and run. The defense had to keep guessing and that is why we had an easier time running the ball in 2011 and 2012. Not because the oline was better than now but because defenses had to keep an eye on denards running ability giving the rbs holes to run through

can denard not field a kickoff? it seems like he'd be decent at it if he could consistnetly catch the balls....

I have kind of wondered why he hasn't been played until now for a while... He always was better at improvisation in real-game scenarios than anything else... and even then, he did pretty well the times they have played him

(Some of it was from the nerve damage in his hand thanks to the same coach who has destroyed devin gardners torso)

That quote is as Michigan as it gets, cause he got fucked in his tenure at Michigan with all the BS that continues through today, and he still hates ohio like no other.

Looking forward to more denard in the future.... Hope he can handle the big-boy hits... I'll even cheer him on against my own favorite NFL team.

Eh, i'm just happy to see denard get his shot.. i've been screaming about it for a while, even grabbed him on fantasy last week because i knew given the chance he'd bust a few big ones.... his avg rush was already good... just wasn't getting enough.
