Denard = Most Explosive Man in Football /Rivals top 10

http://collegefootball.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1256284

Relevant bits:

1. QB Denard Robinson, Michigan, Jr.
Buzz: Robinson is like a time bomb: Sooner or later, he's going to explode. Each time Robinson tucks the football, opposing fans hold their breath because he always seems one step away from making a big play. Last season, his first as a full-time starter in former coach Rich Rodriguez's spread offense, Robinson had 16 runs that covered at least 20 yards and seven that exceeded 30 yards. He had at least one 20-yard gain in nine of the Wolverines' 13 games last season. He scored touchdowns on runs of 87, 72, 47, 32 and 32 yards. He also had 12 pass completions of more than 40 yards. That's more than Stanford's Andrew Luck. A big question with Robinson is how the new Michigan staff will make use of his talents.

Bomb set for 6 days.

I hadn't ever really considered what it would be like to root AGAINST Denard.  I'm trying to think of a player Michigan has faced in recent years with a comparable Barry Sanders-esque holy-shit-tackle-him-before-he-does-something-unbelievable ridiculousness.

Not to say this is equivalent to Denard, but your comment immediately took me to flashbacks of Donovan McNabb running all over us one game in the 90s (forgot what year), including running for a TD with one shoe on.

Edit: I guess it was '98.

I found myself yelling "put your shoes back on!" from the student section that day because, well, I had nothing else to yell.  The next best thing would have been "Stop running!" but that would have just been dumb.  Every time I see him play part of me wishes that his legs would just fall off, payback for what he did that day in Michigan Stadium.  I've also hated Syracuse ever since that day.

I don't remember if Rice started in 1987 and can't find the box score, but we lost that game mostly because of seven turnovers and Tim Brown. In 1988, Rice did start but they didn't score an offensive touchdown. They did have a punt return for a touchdown and four field goals and Mike Gilette missed a last-second field goal. In 1989, Raghib Ismail's two kickoff returns for touchdowns killed us, as Tony Rice and the offense only managed 10 points.

McNabb destroyed UM and Tom Brady in our fist game after the 1997 National Championship. UM then went on to ND and lost to start 1998 0-2. I believe that was the year we rebunede and ended up 10-3 and beat Alabama in the Orange Bowl....

Pat Kratus (DL on the 1998 team) told me that chasing Donovan McNabb was his most helpless feeling ever on a football field.

Also, it was M 45-31 over Arkansas in the Citrus Bowl, not Alabama in the Orange Bowl.

Brady's last game at UM was the 35-34 OT win over Alabama in the Orange Bowl a year later, on Jan 1, 2000.

We played ND first, then Syracuse. We did finish 10-3, beating Arkansas in the Citrus Bowl (Alabama was the next year).

Antwaan Randle El was a handful when he was back at Indiana. Also, kind of the opposite style of player tortured us in the Rose Bowl - Mike Williams of USC wasn't terribly nimble - he was just so big and strong that he kept our DBs from the ball with his body, kind of like a collegiate Antonio Gates . . .

I am confident Hoke and company will find places where they can cause "explosions", and out of the smoke and ruin of the opposing D will come one Denard Robinson.
