Denard finishes 6th in Heisman voting

I was curious when these votes would be revealed. Great honor for Denard, and it'll be even better to see him at the ceremony in New York next year.

As much as I would've liked to see Denard recognized in New York, it was AWESOME that he got to be recognized at the Big Chill in front of all his fans. I look forward to him showing off the Heisman at a basketball home game in the next two years.

Does Michigan do Heisman Campaigns? I mean this in the sense that the school takes an active role in promoting an athelete for the award. I wonder if this might be a reflection of the head coach. I also wonder how David Brandon's new marketing director would impact this, if at all.

Also, I think the Owen Marecic vote is interesting. He was a pretty effective two-way player for Stanford, though he's not especially awesome. Anyway, his votes put two Stanford kids in the top 6.

Wish he would have been invited to NYC, but the sky is the limit for his future.

I think he'll be happier getting it next year when he can also celebrate the team's success.

I honestly believe he finishes second if we finish 9-3 and he may have won had one of them been OSU and he had a big game. That's how much recods matter. The final four had a combine 2 losses. It's kind of sad really because it supposed to be about the best player not the best player on a great team. Cam still would have won regardless. I mean, he was just clutch. He was the reason they won a bunch of games against bad teams. Auburn is Michigan with a great Dline that makes just enough plays to get them out of bad situations.
