Denard Dieciseis
I wanted to share with the MGoBlog community a suggested new nickname for Denard. Denard Dieciseis. Kinda like Chad Ochocinco. But better. Let me know what you think...

If you're looking for another name to refer to him by
how about Shoelace?
September 21st, 2010 at 8:08 PM ^
That will never stick!
September 22nd, 2010 at 8:05 AM ^
Is he called that because he never ties his shoes?
September 21st, 2010 at 5:45 PM ^
"Diez y seis" es correcto, yo creo.
September 21st, 2010 at 5:48 PM ^
Its how he spelled it. There needs to be an accent over the second e, but other than that its right.
September 21st, 2010 at 5:48 PM ^
If we're going Ochocinco style (i.e. "Eight seven rather than eighty-seven"), it would technically but "Diez Seis"
Any yet... still no.
September 21st, 2010 at 5:52 PM ^
... unoseis. Still no go, though.
September 21st, 2010 at 5:55 PM ^
Que bueno. Sin embargo... no.
September 21st, 2010 at 9:48 PM ^
Baxter... You know I don't speak spanish!

Lo siento pero, segun Wikipedia, estas equivocado:
El dieciséis (16) es el número natural que sigue al quince y precede al diecisiete.
September 21st, 2010 at 5:47 PM ^
No. "Shoelace" is enough.
September 21st, 2010 at 5:47 PM ^
...get it.
September 21st, 2010 at 5:48 PM ^
I like your spirit. How about Denard Robinson, or "Shoelace". I know its not trendy to go classic but we like our tradition around here.
September 21st, 2010 at 5:49 PM ^
Yes, because Ochocinco is the role model we want Denard following.
September 21st, 2010 at 5:52 PM ^
How about, "he who runs like grandpa"
September 21st, 2010 at 5:59 PM ^
...wins the thread. Perfecto.
September 21st, 2010 at 11:05 PM ^
Thank you for the announcement. Everyone, Gordie Bell has won the thread.
September 21st, 2010 at 5:53 PM ^
but I'm gonna go ahead and stick with shoelace
September 21st, 2010 at 5:57 PM ^
Nein.

You see this knife? I'm gonna teach you to speak English with this knife

Ay, dios mios - es horible.
September 21st, 2010 at 5:56 PM ^
Shoelace, and Nard Dogg are cool. Denard Dieciseis is atrocious.

September 21st, 2010 at 6:01 PM ^
I do like shoelace or even dilithium but mostly shoelace.
September 21st, 2010 at 6:02 PM ^
The problem is, other than no, it's stupid, is you can't say the name fast enough. Four syllables, plus slow northerners trying to translate what it means takes too much time. Denard could score 2 touchdowns by the time you finish.
September 21st, 2010 at 6:07 PM ^
This just came to me. Why don't we just called him The Doctor (you know DR) as in The Doctor is in the House.
September 21st, 2010 at 6:13 PM ^
1. Your idea is completely unoriginal.
2. And nobody wants Denard Robinson even remotely associated with Chad Johnson's personal branding strategy.
3. Denard Robinson's first name, Denard, is a rare enough name anyway, and should satisfy your longing for something unique and memorable like "Renaldo" and Renaldino", etc.
3. It's just not necessary.
4. Save that ego-centric BS for the "run, run, pass, punt " and "sissy-sliding quarterbacks!"-product of the NFL, not for college football. Not for Michigan Wolverines football.
Hate to be brusque, but you did ask for opinion.

terrible

Why spanish? Why not german or dutch or something? I don't understand the reasoning here.
September 21st, 2010 at 7:47 PM ^
Dutch, dutch, dutch!
Denard Dankuvel?
September 21st, 2010 at 6:16 PM ^
needs more F words
September 21st, 2010 at 6:25 PM ^
I'll call him whatever he likes to go by, and it's pretty obvious that he goes by shoelace.
September 21st, 2010 at 7:23 PM ^
Cool Nickname + Cool Story Behind Nickname + Beast-like skillz = Legend
So with that said...
Shoelace + "I never tied my shoes" + Dillithium Biaaaatch = Legend
Damn, we didn't even need Mathlete for that one
September 21st, 2010 at 6:33 PM ^
i think he is just a bad speller, and actually meant: denard diocese - a new religion.
September 21st, 2010 at 6:34 PM ^
As Charels Barkley would say "thats turrible" Not a fan of it at all, I happen to like "shoelaces". And referencing Ochocinco just makes it even worse, I can't stand that arrogant SOB!
September 21st, 2010 at 6:36 PM ^
Wow... I'm gonna stick with Mr. Robinson. I think that is how he will be addressed by the folks that he will be visiting in the schools and hospitals during the off season.
September 21st, 2010 at 6:52 PM ^
Best idea ever. The only possible thing i can think of to make it even more best would be to change it to chinese - and add some exclamation points so everyone knows we're not just kinda excited about it.
September 21st, 2010 at 8:16 PM ^
I'm glad you explained that as Chinese with exclamation points. I thought you were working on a "The Football Player Formerly Known as Denard Robinson" concept.
September 21st, 2010 at 9:48 PM ^
oops. yeah i guess the number 16 in chinese does look like a grave marker cross next to a stick figure that looks like they're running. +1 for your imagination.
September 21st, 2010 at 9:50 PM ^
aaaaaaaaaaand i re-read your comment and realized that's not at all what you were thinking. You were going with a Prince angle and I thought you meant "formerly" as in he was dead because of the grave marker next to running figure idea......... I take back my imagination comment but you can keep the +1.
