Denard Crazy One Handed Catch

Can't see it at work. On a scale of 1 to 10, with that Odell Beckham Jr. ridiculous three-finger catch last night a 13, how would you rate Denard's catch?

I'd give it a solid Matt Damon.

7 or 8. He just snatches it with his left hand.

We are probably all jaded with Beckham's catch last night, but this was a lobbed pass that 90% of the guys in the league can make with one hand. 6 at most.

What you have to consider with Denard's catch is this wasn't a typical one handed catch that has to be cradled into the body for the receiver to fully gain possession. This was a Larry Fitzgerald-esque one handed grab where it is palmed in his hand on first contact and possession is immediately and obviously gained at that exact point without Denard missing a beat. It's nowhere near Beckham's catch, which is easily one of the greatest of all time, but seeing as Denard is a RB with (to be honest) suspect hands, the way he made the catch look as seemless as "Nice Hands Larry" would have makes this deserving of a 7-8.

This is definitely not true. Denard stuck the ball with his left hand while in stride. Most recievers could have made the catch, but they would have had to make a dive for it in order to maintain posssession. While it wasn't nearly as good or flashy as the Beckham catch, the difficulty in order to pull that catch off was still pretty damn high. I would give it a 7.5 or so.

Compared to Odell and Woodson's 1997 catch, this was a 3. It's not that great of a catch.

Denard picked the wrong day to have a crazy one handed catch that's for sure.

I notice that he made it with his left hand. I wonder if he could make the same catch with his right hand, that is, has he completely recovered from his nerve damage?

ODB's catch last night was insane. I couldnt do that with a mini nerf ball.

I still think my eyes were playing a trick on me. This kid has skills. I still have to go home to pick my jaw up off the floor.

He has some skills.

I don't know how to embed the pic on the iPhone but they have a close up angle showing ODB had just three fingers on the ball in that catch. Only three!! Unreal catch

The Giants have had a surprising amount of receivers make some very impressive catches in recent years. Like, the kind of plays you don't forget.
You've got the David Tyree helmet catch, Domenik Hixon's ridiculous, bobbling TD reception in 2011, Manningham's Super Bowl grab, and now this one by Odell Beckham Jr.

Every time I see a Jaguars highlight, I thank my lucky stars that we don't have those helmets.

Great catch, but after seeing Odell Beckham Jr.'s amazing catch last night against the Cowboys, Denard's catch will undoubtedly get lost in the tape.

Denard is the only offenseive bright spot that Jag team has. He looked pretty good catching the ball out of the backfield yesterday and has embraced that running back role. Something Tebow probably should have done at a different position...

I hope he he gets a new contract in the offseason we all know what a hard worker

Love that, that's some skill and ability there. Catching with your off hand like that is very difficult!

I know we all love Denard, but this isn't that remarkable.

Later that drive, Denard broke out of the backfield and was standing by himself in the endzone when Bortles lofted a fade to Marquise Lee that went incomplete on 4th and goal.
