Denard BTN interview (video)

Submitted by Thorin on

Didn't see this posted yet. He answers questions about the Heisman hype, his improved passing and the Indiana game.

Denard's smile is like a thousand kittens dipped in egg batter and rolled in fairy dust, fried to a deep golden brown in oil of pegasus horn, and served on a plate of dreams and starshine.

Denard shows us with hard work, talent, and a great attitude anything is possible.  He set the Michigan record for yards in a game in his 2nd start!  Sky is the limit!

No reason anyone should dislike Tebow really, the only problem was the amount of media attention he got.  It's great when your player has all that attention but it gets annoying when it is another player.  And you really can't blame Tebow for the attention he was given, same as you can't blame Denard for the coverage he gets.

... so much of Eric Liddell from Chariots of Fire, when he references god at around 2:30.

Eric Liddell in Chariots of fire: "I believe God made me for a purpose, but he also made me fast. And when I run I feel His pleasure."

I'm not a religious man, but the humility is great.

His smile is contagious, any time I see him in these interviews, I start smiling too! It's just a "everything's gonna be allright." Soo, glad he is ours! That attitude can be contagious, and personally, I believe D.Rob is the reason why/how Tate got back on track. After hearing all the positive things D.Rob was saying about Tate and Tate eventually realizing how hard Denard worked his ass off; it pushed Tate to be a better player/person. I mean the other call-outs im sure didn't hurt either, but still.

All props go to D.Rob and everything he has done, is doing, and will do for us.

Love watching him dodge dumb questions like he does defenders. Everyone tries to get him to say something but he gives em nothing more than he should. All in for Michigan and that's all that matters.

I have noticed this too.... and the aplomb in which he does it.   I am sure those reporters constantly have to do a double take and ask themselves, "did he just dodge me?"

He is so smiling, unpretentious and non-offputting with it that you don't see it coming until it is too late.   It is as if he is toying with them at times.   A subtle dilithium shot.   Left, right and gone!

of his interviews.  He refuses to be sucked in and just deflects the question back with a discussion of the line or downfileld reciever's blocking to spring him.

I'm seriously worried about the cheap shots he is gonna take b/c if I was a DC I'd be trying to hurt him b/c that is the only successful defense so far.

If you watch that last long pass play (denard to hemingway) the corner on Indiana (#6 Richard Council) landed funny (IT LOOKS PAINFUL!) and messed up his knee and is going to be out for a while...it sucks for the senior but it looks like ANGRY MICHIGAN CORNERBACK HATING GOD'S Brother from Bloomington ANGRY INDIANA CORNERBACK HATING GOD was getting his hate on last weekend...

send him out on the recruiting trail to reel recruits in.  All he would have to do is smile and say  "All in for Michigan".

Denard is like a ray of sunshine on a bleak autumn day that just rejuvenates the soul and makes the world seem at peace for the moment.  Being a man of faith I certainly understand what he feels inside.  My prayers for him are not that he break records, play better, or beat this team or that team - but rather for him to just continue to play up to his natural ability and live up to his beliefs.  Everything else will fall into place accordingly, and we, the Michigan faithful, will be proud.

This kid is smart! Honestly, to hear him speak you might think his command of the language is not great, he's not eloquent or bombastic, but you watch him play and you can see he understands the offense very well, is well-coached, and is smart enough to stay within himself. Also, his mindset is clearly disciplined and wise: he is avoiding the hype, staying away from the limelight, keeping it simple and keeping it real. EXTREMELY difficult for a young man to do under these conditions. Clearly comes from strong, tight family.

For Rich Rodriguez to discover and nurture this kid, it is more than enough to give him a solid chance of years to put a program together. So all the RR haters, Boo-Yah and take a shower!

Speaking about Denard's performances, his best ones were against the better competition not the UMass or BG.

He got 502 yards against ND, 494 yards against Indiana and 383 yards against UConn, so to me that look like the bigger the game the better he gets. He may or may not put this type of numbers again this season, but I'm pretty sure he's still going to score plenty of TD and be dangerous every time he touches the ball.

Denard's smile makes me feel like God really is on his side. Wouldn't that be nice? I seriously can't remember the last time I felt calmed by a player's presence on the team. Thank God for Denard and Go Blue!

Denard has been to a ton of press conferences and interviews, and nobody has asked him the one question that we all want answered.

Denard, how the fuck did you get so fast?

He really does seem like a great young man.  It is hard to remember that these guys are just kids because they possess so much ability.  Coach Rod deserves all the credit in the world giving this kid a chance.  I flat didn't see it last year, but I am guessing Rod knew this could happen given his freakish speed.

I love his All in for Michigan lines and I truly believe he just wants to win.  I can't wait for kickoff....I am already fired up.

Did anyone hear the Cousins interview on ESPN? If not, he got asked what he thought about Denard. I found it awesome that Denard's now a topic of discussion in other teams' (offensive) player's interviews. It's like, "Cousins you're pretty good, but let's talk about Denard instead because he's amazing."
