are a lot of NFL teams scrambling now that JT came off the board.
January 13th, 2012 at 2:36 PM ^
with jt off the board...do u think luck goes #1 overall now
January 13th, 2012 at 2:39 PM ^
I don't know. I hear that there is a chance that Nathan Brink might still declare. I guess we'll have to wait for the 3:30 announcement.
January 13th, 2012 at 3:40 PM ^
i like jt actually...considering how he came in im willing to say he has exceeded expectations here. not an all conference player but a solid 4 yr player for us.
January 13th, 2012 at 2:44 PM ^
has caught the eye of quite a few scouts since the Sugar Bowl. Most are impressed with his hands and his route running. Would not be surprised to see him move up a little now.
January 13th, 2012 at 5:47 PM ^
He could be another Gronkowski.
January 13th, 2012 at 2:54 PM ^
I wish I could moderate this higher than 5
January 13th, 2012 at 3:00 PM ^
the Colts are looking at Sam Bowie.
January 13th, 2012 at 3:29 PM ^
I damn near pissed myself laughing at this comment
January 13th, 2012 at 2:35 PM ^
Not surprising, but good nonetheless.
January 13th, 2012 at 2:36 PM ^
Umm... I want to be a program where this would actually be big news. It wasn't too long ago that it could have been (Mario Manningham returning would have been big). We're almost there though. Go Blue
January 13th, 2012 at 2:39 PM ^
Apparently he was out the Door no matter what
January 13th, 2012 at 2:54 PM ^
I'm apparently in a small minority, but I actually think this is big, good news worthy of the hype. These announcements are unpredictable and, as we know, can blindside fan bases with crappy news.
<br>Our multi-year starter, Heisman candidate QB is returning for his senior season. Cheers.
January 13th, 2012 at 11:23 PM ^
A QB like Denard will never win a Heisman in this offense. Luckily, Denard will be the first to say he doesn't care. That is what has been most impressive about Denard's loyalty to the maize and blue. He could have transferred to Oregon, for example, and been a Heisman frontrunner as a redshirt junior next season. Instead, he chose to stay with his "family" at Michigan.
We owe Denard Robinson an unpayable debt of gratitude. He sacrificed any shot at the Heisman to stay in Ann Arbor. How many people would do the same in his situation?

Umm... I want to be a program where this would actually be big news. It wasn't too long ago that it could have been (Mario Manningham returning would have been big)Brandon Graham coming back after 2008 was a bigger deal than Manningham would have been, IMO. Especially given that we'd just had a horrific season.

In a similar vein I would like to announce I will not be dating Kate Beckinsale.
January 13th, 2012 at 2:42 PM ^
sorry bro :/ at least JT spurned billions of dollars for another year at ][V][
January 13th, 2012 at 2:47 PM ^
You sound all broken up about it. I'm surprised you can still type.
January 13th, 2012 at 2:50 PM ^
Wait, what? Nooooooo!!!! Say it isn't so dude.
January 13th, 2012 at 4:30 PM ^
Then I guess my chances just went up.
January 13th, 2012 at 2:39 PM ^
It's great to hear that they both are coming back but my thought is who would have made the bigger mistake by leaving early?
January 13th, 2012 at 4:21 PM ^
Definitely Floyd. Denard would probably latch on somewhere due to his athleticism.
January 13th, 2012 at 2:39 PM ^
Color me shocked.
January 13th, 2012 at 2:41 PM ^
what NFL's feedback was to JT Floyd?
January 13th, 2012 at 3:17 PM ^
TWICE....
Oh yeah, and it was written in one of those singing cards from Hallmark and had "Beauty School Drop Out" from Grease playing through the tiny speakers when you opened up the card. It was pretty sweet.

Couldn't be harsher than Magnus.
January 13th, 2012 at 2:57 PM ^
let's just say he's staying
January 13th, 2012 at 2:43 PM ^
My Source was wrong. He told me the announcement was related to new uniforms.
January 13th, 2012 at 2:52 PM ^
Those would not look very flattering on the D-line.

I thought it was someone that took 1 minute and 48 seconds to finish the 40 yard dash.
January 13th, 2012 at 3:11 PM ^
Those uniforms would look fine on the D-line if they took intercepting-passes-at-the-line-and-returning-them-for-touchdowns-and-doing-the-booty-dance-afterwards lessons from BJ Raji. Frank Clark already has one third of that down.

"Being around all of the great people here, I just couldn't see myself not being here for my senior year." - JT Floyd
haha neither could the NFL. (love ya JT)
January 13th, 2012 at 2:51 PM ^
But I laughed out loud when I saw the thread title. I look forward to the day when we will need to genuinely worry about this.
January 13th, 2012 at 2:54 PM ^
Color me not surprised. Happy to have them both back.
January 13th, 2012 at 3:04 PM ^
Denard was having so much fun at the hoops game on Wed night - you knew he was coming back. Thank God this is a not a head scratcher like Shazor, Warren and a few others who left early.
January 13th, 2012 at 3:08 PM ^
pheww. was worried, especially about JT
January 13th, 2012 at 3:24 PM ^
i think their coming back was a given.....
January 13th, 2012 at 3:42 PM ^
I guess theoretically I could see Denard leaving and getting drafted... somewhere, but Floyd?
I think every LSA junior on campus could make an announcement about returning for their senior year with as much hype as JT Floyd.

usually redshirt?

Always play the first year!
January 13th, 2012 at 4:39 PM ^
....they greyshirted me in the neuroscience program because the program requirements were going to change in the winter 1997 semester and I needed the time to get other courses out of the way, so I did my JUCO stint almost exclusively at Angell Hall.
January 13th, 2012 at 3:40 PM ^
I must inform you that I will not be coaching the U of M football team. Brady Hoke seems to be returning ahead of me. That is more probable than these two going pro. Take off the maize glasses for those buying the bull. Denard wanted to know "if" he will move to special team or receiver in a draft I would bet. Floyd needs a drug test. I can maybe see Denard having a good year and getting a special teams job. He has the talent there, but durability would be a risk. He is phenomenal in games against lower talent. I think he does kick butt coming up this year!
January 13th, 2012 at 3:45 PM ^
No shit.
January 13th, 2012 at 4:54 PM ^
Apparently he considered the draft only on the condition that he be able to cover AJ Jenkins in all 16 games
January 13th, 2012 at 5:00 PM ^
Floyd is going to be, whether you like it or not, one of the Big 10's top corners in the whole package of being a cornerback next year. He's got the same company as Ricardo Allen (Purdue), Johnny Adams (MSU), Darqueze Dennard (MSU), and Roby/Howard (Ohio), and that's it. Seriously, the Big 10 doesn't have many returning stars for cornerbacks next year.
He showed to be pretty darn good in man coverage, especially as the year progressed. He really only got torched a few times by Posey and Coale, but that's it. He's definitely got to work on his willingness to come up in run support and to avoid being blocked down the field. But, if he works on those things and maybe improves his technique (I hate his horrible backpedalling-with-45-degree-hip-angle thing), he could be pretty damn good in the Big 10. Probably not draftable, but one of the better corners.

Why would we not like that?
