Deion Barnes to PSU

Submitted by Dreisbach1817 on

Not a surprise.  It was down to Penn State and South Carolina I believe.  Or some other school that wasn't Michigan.

JC Shurburtt -- "DE Deion Barnes (Philadelphia/Northeast) just committed to Penn State. Check Lions247.com for more details."

Perhaps Hokey Oil could be applied to Zettel given playing time issues.  Yes, I refuse to end the Zettel speculation.  However, truth be told, it's very likely that Zettel knew about this commitment. Hoke has to make one final run.

If it were anyone else, I'd say absolutely not.

But Zettel is a guy who attended almost every home game for the last two years as a fan/recruit. Not that it's particularly likely, but if we have a chance with anyone, it's Zettel.

You don't go to every game since your birth and not give the school a chance, when all the coaching drama has subsided.

I still think "what if" with some of these recruits had Hoke been hired 6 weeks earlier.  Like a lot of folks, I assume.

but realistically speaking i dont think zettel would back out from psu. he seemed strict in his decision making and waited until he was ready..and even though his timing made no sense from a M standpoint, he seems settled. who else can we find?!

Mattison comes into Ann Arbor today and said he will start recruiting immediately.  I almost bet that Zettel gets a call today and you would think that might be enough to change his mind. I hope.

He's good, but its a good thing DE wasn't one of our great needs in this class, as we already have two. I'll pull my hair out if other schools start snagging our DT targets.

some talent on their d-line in recent recruiting classes. I would love for the poaching of state talent stopped of psu. -f anything Michigan OWN the western side of PA. In fact,I would love to see the return of recruiting that side of that state, sending a message..."We're Back." PSU has gotten some SERIOUS talent out of the state of late...
