Defending the Indefensible/I HATE you Buckeye Fans
STOP F-ING DEFENDING TRESSEL!!! COME ON
“It appears to me there’s a smear campaign going on to make Ohio State and Jim Tressel look bad,” said Larry Lokai, a member of the Urbana City Council who also is well-known as Buckeyeman.
You have got to be kidding! To Reiterate:
He found out his own players broke the f-ing rules of the governing body that makes the rules of the sport that he works in.
He failed to tell the school about said f-ing broken rules which is yet another rule broken.
By not telling the school which would subsequently tell the rule making commission which would subsequently suspend the players for the sake of letting said players play he broke yet more rules.
Then he f-ing broke MORE rules of said governing body by LYING TO THEM that he didn't know anything!!!
HOW THE F DO YOU DEFEND THAT!
At least a small minority of the Buckeyes have somewhat of a clear mind: http://menofthescarletandgray.com/2011/04/25/jim-tressel-should-resign-or-be-fired/
Did you know there are people who actually listen to Justin Beiber and Lady Gaga?
People will start believing you if you do.

I'll just go ahead and say it. I'm a 32 year old man, and I like Lady Gaga.
with her withered flesh, her sagging breasts. . . Or do I have it the wrong way round?
(See if anybody gets THIS reference!)
Don't forget her penis.
Harold and Maude. Hal Ashby, early 1970s.
What do I win?

what bastards

WE WERE BORN THIS WAY!
Denial isn't just a river in Africia ya know. (ZING! $2 you've never heard that one before!)
But yea... at the end of the day it's simply fan Denial, and the same thing happens anywhere and everywhere that bad news for a sports team comes down the pipe.
gets really vehement and scary just before people reach the point where they can deny no more. A very bad hangover is about to follow.
April 27th, 2011 at 10:47 AM ^
You're assuming the individual in question is of sound mind in the first place. IN this case that's debatable.
Those that are defending him and his actions are wearing scarlet and grey shades. They can see no evil.
On some level I get a group of Buckeye fans in a bar in Columbus sitting around coming up with half-crocked defenses of the guy knowing if they dare say otherwise in said setting their heads may be stoved in with blunt objects.
I also understand Buckeye fan who either in fear of the unknown future without the Sweatervest patrolling the sideline or in pure grief of the likely impending doom attempts to rationalize to himself or to his other blunt of mind Buckeye breathren reasons why what is likely to happen is unfair or unjust.
But how do you write articles like the one quoted yesterday on Eleven Warriors or go on the record for newspaper articles like the one I posted above and put your density out there in public.
April 27th, 2011 at 10:58 AM ^
You can't be too surprised by this. There are die-hard fans everywhere that are incapable of seeing fault in their own sports team/children/country.
There will come a day when our cells won't regenerate and everyone you know will rot away, rot away Your friends and enemies and all your family we will all be buried in the ground, in the ground So make the most of it. Life's too short to fuck with. Once an hour a day I get very sad Once an hour a day I get depressed When that hour is over I start to feel okay because I'm reminded I'll rot away, rot away. I don't have much time to hang out here and cry and though that may feel nice I can't do that everyday I've had a lot of friends and they've done a lot of drugs and those drugs made my friends rot away, rot away They say that Jesus saves but Jesus doesn't care because he is in a grave, in a grave Let's be our own God, take care of ourselves and the ones that we love
Wut?
Please go on...
I'm a lady killer
And you're a pretty lady
And that means I'm gonna kill you
'Cause you're a pretty lady
And I'm a lady killer
And that's just what lady killers do
You find me quite charming
And I find it quite alarming
'Cause I'm gonna take your life
You find me quite charming
And I find it quite alarming
And I'm sad you won't be my wife
'Cause I'm gonna cut you with a knife
Lady killing is a curse
I just killed a nurse
Yesterday with a big gun
Lady killing is a curse
I just killed a nurse
Yeah, lady killing's no fun
But I'm going to do it
Until I die
I'm a lady killer
And you're a pretty lady
And that means I'm gonna kill you
'Cause you're a pretty lady
And I'm a lady killer
And that's just what lady killers do
It's lady killing season tonight
So let's all go kill a lady
'Cause it's lady killing season tonight!
I don't normally respond to being baited like this but...as a Chistian I believe that Jesus, arose from the grave, he transcended death. Ok, I am done.
<insert idiot Buckeye joke here>
In all seriousness, what did you expect? We've long known that a portion of that fanbase is three hairs away from being baboons. This behavior falls right in line with the rest of the data.
April 27th, 2011 at 10:06 AM ^
Please stop casting aspersions on baboons. They are not pleased.
April 27th, 2011 at 11:28 AM ^
Baboons were known to wholeheartedly resist the emergence, decline, and re-emergence of the mullet, so you're comparing apples and oranges here.

I would expect nothing less. Haven't you seen how they defend family even after their 2nd arrest for Meth? That's the way of Ohio homies....
that Charlie Bauman ran into Woody Hayes fist.
it was all Charlie's fault. Normally Woody's fists were no where near any players throats. He had no business intercepting that pass and being near the OSU sideline, he was just asking for it.

Alright pie, I'm going to stand here simply doing this. (Bites down) And if you get eaten, it's your own fault.
Thanks for this post. I got a good laugh at your anger coming through the page. My only analysis of the situation is: People are stupid.
is that I found Buckeyes saying Tressel had to go after the loss to Purdue two years ago. The fact that a bad loss is a much worse offense than breaking rules, and trying to cover them up tells me all we need to know about Buckeyes and sports in general.

If you look through the comments from the second article OP posted from menofthescarletandgray.com, the author of that article says this:
“My problem is I dont care that he cheated as I hope my sports teams are bending and breaking every rule they can to help them win games. I get angry every time someone mentions morals and sports in the same sentence. I dont look to my teams for my moral barometer. ”
I called him out on it, but why would anyone want their team to abandon their moral compass to win games? What happened to learning life lessons from the game and developing boys into mature, responsible men? I can tell you one thing for sure, that my dad learned more about life from Bo than Tressel could care to instill in his players.

During the NCAA tournament, he announced that his favorite basketball teams were OSU and Kentucky. I don't know how the guy sleeps at night.
April 27th, 2011 at 12:18 PM ^
One of the benefits of being clueless.
I'm not surprised in the least by their support of Tressel, however, to call this current media firestorm a "smear campaign" when Tressel has now reluctantly acknowledged that all of the allegations against him are true, is more than a little disingenuous.
April 27th, 2011 at 10:02 AM ^
Im reading lots of comments from Buckeyes...50/50 right now but I read one
where they called JT a Saint!!!! Saint Tressel!!!! the man has been a liar and cheater
and hypocrite since day one..Hes been in and out of NCAA scrapes one right after another
This time he got CAUGHT cheating and lieing the other times he just got away with it!
One cant help giggle at his book about " winning with integrity"....yeah right!

is their fans (who unfortunately are human beings as well as we are) are stupid enough to believe any shit that comes out of his filthy sewer. I hold no ill will towards their fans...loyalty is a trait rarely observed anymore...but ignorance is no excuse.
April 27th, 2011 at 10:04 AM ^
I passed on this little tidbit in a thread yesterday but it's much more appropriate here so I will repeat: The other day my father in law informed me that not only should Tressel not be punished, he should be commended because of how honorably he stuck his neck out to "protect his players". Also, the whole thing was a big fraud anyhow after how RR "got away with one".
So yeah... What can you do when met with such delusion? It's not like there's anything you can say that will make them hear logic.
April 27th, 2011 at 11:27 AM ^
....that you should disown your father-in-law.
April 27th, 2011 at 10:07 AM ^
tOSU fans, alumni, supporters etc dont want to have this "smear" their image because they know we as the UM faithful will use it as ammunition everytime something happens from now on.
F!@# OSU and their alumni, fans they can have their cheating ass, gay sweatervest wearing faggot of a coach...i hope he does stay on so when we beat their ass this year it will make it all that much better!!!
Edit: My hatred for tOSU has no boundaries...
April 27th, 2011 at 11:00 AM ^
Get out of here if you're going to talk that way. Seriously...
April 27th, 2011 at 11:39 AM ^
His hatred of Ohio State apparently transcends the boundaries of civil discourse.
April 27th, 2011 at 11:49 AM ^
I'm not even one who tends to care when words aren't obviously being used in the manner they originally intended (see: South Park, The F Word) but saying something behind closed doors when both people know what is getting said and plastering it all over the internet in a way that's hateful towards ~4500 page views* of this site is completely different.
*There are all types of statistical problems with this figure, but I went with 15% (a commonly reported number of LGBT/population) and 30,000 views from the Quantcast Data.
April 27th, 2011 at 12:14 PM ^
I can't even see the original comment that compelled you to drop the F-bomb. It done collapsed into the thread. Happy days, friends, truly, happy days.
April 27th, 2011 at 12:18 PM ^
Happy days indeed; my only concern is that now he'll only get -2 or -5 or something, where before it would be a -30 or -40.
