Would be awesome!
Dee Hart Transfer Rumors-Michigan Potential Destination
Would it.... if he's 4th on depth chart there, why should we think he'd make much/any of an impact here? We already have Norfleet and Drake Johnson (kinda) as our slot/speed backs.
Not being 1st string at Bama does not mean you're not any good. He was the #19 overall prospect 2 years ago. To be honest, assuming that Norfleet (presumed KR) and then Drake Johnson (something of a backup plan?) would bench the #19 overall prospect from 2 years ago is...optimistic
Well what about not being 2nd string or 3rd string? And by now I hope everyone realizes you can only take so much from the rankings....
This is just not Hokes style, even if Hart was to transfer, he won't go to U-M because Hoke will not offer him, he's got guys that committed and that he will be loyal to and coach up, why do you think people love him so much? He won't forsake guys that have been there for somebody who feels like changing his mind when things don't go perfect for them.
Well, if we lose out on Green, which is a distinct possibility, then there might be an open scholarship in the recent recruiting class. Dee would have to sit out this year and would join the 2013 class. Would be a RS SO though. He would offer us a different type of RB than Shallman or Smith offer us so maybe, if the coaches are interested. And assuming this is not just some random and off-the-wall rumor from the internet.
How is offering Dee Hart a scholarship forsaking anybody? You bring in the best talent and players who play earn the right to do so, period.
I don't think that was your best effort at Cassel. I believe in you.
Kastl? Really? Sound it out. Thanks for the laugh though.
He got his people mixed up. Jeff Kastl was a forever practice squad QB at Michigan.
Matt as we know was USC's forever backup that kinda made it in the NFL.
The dude mixed up a couple names, dont need to be a dick
HAHAHAHA, this is awesome. I had no clue who he was even trying to describe.
I think you meant coxswain.....Shane Morris will not be dee hart's "cocksman."
Don't forget Justice Hayes. He's probably above both of the players you mention in terms of slot/speed backs. Frankly, I'm quite excited for his future here.
That said, I would be happy to have Dee Hart competing here if the coaches think he's worth the offer.
Not exactly a prototypical Hoke back, but too big a talent to turn down.
I heard we were keeping that spot open for Bri'Onte Dunn . . . .
But does Michigan still have interest in him?
When asked for a source, UMGoBlog said he got it from a DM (direct message). I call his bluff -- guy has no sources, and his site is an obvious rip-off of this site's name.
I think he said (on here maybe) one time that he had registered the domain name long before MGoBlog became popular and didn't start using it seriously until recently. Take it fwiw

I stand corrected. UMGoBlog was created first (albeit by 10 days). My apologies.
The internets... they are fast. Really you need to go to UMGoBlue.com as it's the "original" site they went by... :)
It's the Hydrox cookie of blogs.
Was MGoBlog ever in existence on blogspot or something similar before it got it's own official .com domain name?
yes, for several years
Hence why it's a rumor?
With proof and stuff.

I've been visiting UMGoBlue (forums mostly) since before it was UMGoBlue. All that being said, until there is more info it is what it is (a rumor).
on November 13th 2013 at 2:51:46?!!!
I don't want MGoBlog to "expire".
If Brian lets it expire, I'm snatching it up and holding it ransom until gives me all the HTTV money (all the money!)
Looks like the Mayans were off by a year.
Except we're talking about UMGoBlog not UMGoBlue.

To DM, you have to follow and be followed by the person sending the DM. With some POE, I think we might be able to narrow it down.
What is the handle?
When I was asked for a source, I DMed that it was one of his old high school coaches and that Dee Hart did say that, although I said it was a rumor because for all we know Dee was frustrated and venting. I NEVER told anyone I got it via a DM.
And cdycus is right, UMGoBlog is a spinoff of UMGoBlue, but we actually created the URL MGoBlog.com (thus the ten day difference) and owned it for awhile before we gave the rights of the name for free to Brian.
Wait a second.......wasn't this last years exact same rumor?
More than a random blogs tweet I'm going to assume this is Internet tomfoolery
(Obligatory scholarship number question)
I call Balderdash.
@wilson_shannon the point is you don't even know about Dee Hart bringing a knife to practice when another player whipped his tail.
This again? We here this every few months.
I here every few hours.
Wait, didn't Brian just say in the front page that Hart was expected to take over top duties at Bama if Lacy is out?
I dont know, Lacy got injured against me in my NCAA Michigan dynasty, and Hart did not come in. That should tell you something.
(sarcasm sign for those who are not fluent in sarcasm)
On the flip side....why wouldn't he consider Rich Rod and Zona where he would easily start next year in an offense tailor made for him.
We have Rawls And northfleet
Who is Northfleet? Southfleet you mean?
I think you mean South Feet.
You mean South Detroit...?
Just a city boy, born and raised there.
That's called downriver around here.
The North Face. Michigan has it. Lots of it.
he should go to Zona, guarenteeeed time!
<cough> Iowa <cough>
<limp> Iowa <limp>
I was going to scream at both of you about malformed xml, but then I realized that the limping just never ends at Iowa. And my apologies to the other guy if he has TB or something.
Don't see the point of taking him unless all other recruits we want fall through. He would have been great for an RR spread ala Steve Slaton, but he's not a manballish back, and we already have Hayes and Norwood with which to scat it up.
When did we get Norwood? I follow recruiting pretty close, but I must have missed that. Wait, did he commit with Troy Wilfork?
there was a Wall Street Journal article on NFL players cutting weight but maintaining strength because the pass happy NFL is moving away from manball, and even the running plays are more misdirection than power. So the front seven have been shedding bad weight, to gain speed.
Having watched the 1993 Rosebowl on BTN recently, I was noticing how big the linebackers were back then (hard to tell completely with the oversized shoulder pads), and how slow they looked. We won that game, but let me tell you, the pass happy Gary Moller thing is a meme, unless of course you had been watching Bo for years and Gary Moller really was pass happy by comparison (but still nothing near the West Coast offense we faced, and had trouble keeping up with, every Rose Bowl).
The Carolina Panthers played RVB a lot on Friday. He played both at tackle and at end (at least it looked that way). No sacks, but he knocked down at least one pass, and deflected another. Looked to me like he was playing pretty well. Anyway, I was surprised to see him at tackle as I didn't think he had the weight. (Though he did look heavier than the Sugar Bowl - maybe it is the loss of flow.)
Anyway, my point is, maybe manball is a capability to have when Roy Roundtree gets tackled on the 1, but West Coast is the primary. I which case a smaller back is OK. And even then, JMo, Mike Hart, those guys were not big beasts.
Auburn can never have enough RBs apparently
I say send him to IOWA !
EDIT: Damnit bdsisme! I was only in the bathroom for a couple minutes!
What did Dee Hart do to you to deserve that fate?
talent you can't turn down. I know this thread is going to get a lot of, "he didnt choose Michigan so Michigan doesn't need him, hes not a Michigan man, rabble rabble" but Id take him. Heck even if he never sees a down its worth the risk ( like taking a transfer, especially fresh off an ACL tear).
With that said, I just don't see Dee Hart coming here especially after seeing how Hoke had no interest in PSU players transferring. And M has rarely been known for taking transfers (FuckLion transfers dont count. see Marques Slocum) Also, I find it humorous that Auburn is a potential destination. A little (real little) Justin Boren of the south.
He may list us as a destination but I dont see Hoke and Co. talking to him very much unless its a "OMFG I want to play for Gorgeous Borges" moment. The minute he trys to play the who wants me most card, M would say goodbye.
Why do I feel like this troll rampup on mgoblog? Btwn this and the Ace post I'm wary...
Best of luck to the kid, but personally, I wouldn't want sloppy seconds.
Would think Arizona more likely. Does Hoke even want an undersized darty back with former torn ACL?
You mean like Vincent Smith? Couldn't imagine...
Only on third downs and only if he can block, according to practice reports.
And shoot some badass finger-guns.
I saw the first shots he fired on live television. Epic. Manti Teo is simply and sadly bullet proof.
Can we go ahead and give Vince the MGo nickname of Vincent "2 Guns" Smith??? Me likey...
I wouldn't be suprised if Urb is on his doorstep as we speak
No thanks. Transfers wash out at an astronomical rate.
Maybe most but I can think of a few who would object. Mostly a 6'6 Heisman winning QB and a high first round Lions DT. Both from Auburn as well. Hey! Maybe Dee is on to something.
You're right, Russell Wilson was terrible.
Graduate transfers are obviously less flakey, they, you know, graduated and only have to last a year.
This smells like BS to me, but what would be his deadline for transferring to Michigan so that he's eligible in 2013?
Smells like teen spirit.
oh ya? but what about diggs?
NEG THIS USER EVER AGAIN.
I don't want to miss the avatar.
That seems a bit extreme.
I would like to let the idea of either of them coming to Mich die, if that's what you mean...
Only if Dee Hart is a packaged deal with HaHa.
LOL I doubt he comes here. Completely different from when he was being recruited.
FWIW... googled Dee Hart Transfer...
This stuff came from message boards, don't take it as gospel... but... Jesus
First thing that pops up,
Rumor floating that Bama LB Xzavier Dickson was breaking into cars, broke into Hart's.
Hart tried to fight him, Dickson beat him down, Hart comes back at him with a knife.
Its shameful that a lot of our guys were blazing before a game, but this is like on another planet. Like Football and the Streets down there or something.
I hope this didn't happen, esp if he plans on coming to Michigan
Alabama's starting LB is breaking into cars and this is widely known to the football team, yet Saban keeps it all hush hush. Don't know about the rumors per say, but this, so far, is believable.
I am just waiting for the day where some kid is fed up with Saban's favoritism (kind of like what came out about Urban after he retired from UF) and decides to tell all. Then hopefully the whole fabric of the SEC unravels and the NCAA somehow grows the balls to actually do something about it.
He should've stabbed him with an umbrella like the 15-man gang umbrella fight in GR the other day.
I mean if the price is right and he knows what it means to become a Wolverine. A real one.
If he opted to transfer to Michigan, I'd welcome him. But I'm not sure we'll need him. He's going to want to go somewhere where he has a good chance to start. Maybe he'd get that here, but I think he'd get buried behind Rawls and Hayes anyway. Plus, he'll be facing some pretty stiff competition from Deveon Smith, Wyatt Shallman, and if Green commits, I think Hart will have 0 chance to play.
He should consider Florida. Its not like they have much of an offense to speak of these days.
this is not happening. Green is the priority.
I'm hoping he goes to Auburn to help push Derrick Green to us.
How gullible is everyone on here? Lacy's knee, and now hart transferring? Give me a break! Stories are being planted just so everyone gets in a stir. Go do some research on trolling clubs on the net. Enlighten yourselves fergodsake!
Well I don't want to say we told you so Dee, but we told you so.
You got paid so stay there.
Sad, yet almost poetic if true. Hart shafts Michigan for Alabama, who in turn shaft him. Well we have limited roster spots available. Hypothetically, which #1 running back would you rather have, would you take Dee Hart back, or sign Derrick Green?
and a mighty fine ship it was. I hear the waters are calm in Arizona.
It would be nice to finally see Hart make it to Ann Arbor, but Florida presents a lot bigger opportunity for him right now. By next year, Michigan will be loaded at RB, while Florida, despite Muschamp's declaration of a "stable" of running backs, doesn't have anyone who is really tearing it up.
It's a lot closer to Orlando, too.
Not sure if that's important to Mr. Hart, but maybe it is.
(That's quite a knee brace.)
Run DMG for Heisman.
If his top-3 is indeed Florida, Auburn, and Michigan, he needs a new top-3. Doubtful Saban would let him transfer within the SEC. And unless he's thinking about transfering after Week 1 of this year, then Saban won't let him transfer to Michigan either ... since, you know, we are gonna play each other.
When is he thinking about transfering?
A) REALLY?! I seriously doubt that.
B) Am I the only person here who thinks that someone who wants to transfer their soph year just because they're not starting, and said that he went to Bama b/c Saban would get him ready for "the league"...
...am I really the only person here who doesn't think this kid has his priorities straight? Am I the only one who hopes we get as few football factory assembly workers as possible at Michigan?
I really hope I'm not the only one who thinks that kids who want only to play pre-professional ball and use a university as a cover can go elsewhere.
If you're not interested in a degree, a winged helmet, and a fair shot, there are plenty of other schools out there for you.
C) Man...I am getting old before my time if I'm having to defend this kind of position.
