Dee Hart RE-committing??

Submitted by BKFinest on

Take it for what it's worth, but apparently Rod Smith had an in-house with Dee after the game and apparently has him back on board. The situation is fluid, but the text I got said from a connected source said " Will Campbell, 2010 version - Dee to recommit to Mich @ Army All American game."

TomVH? Any legs?

EDIT: Also picked up by GBW. http://michigan.scout.com/a.z?s=162&p=2&c=1028124&ssf=1&RequestedURL=ht…

I watched Dr. Phillips game last evening. Anytime Dee Hart touches the ball he can take it to the house. Had two TD's called back due to holding calls, if not for those he would have had over 300 yds on the ground. Ran about 30 yds on a 4th and 15. Made one of the most miraculous catches out of the backfield I have ever seen. One handed off his shoestrings.

There were 3-4 times he totally faked out at least 6 guys on a play. He has this burst, then a bit of a glide and a shift to the side than another burst and he weaves his way down the field. His top end speed is very close to Denard. Ended up with 2 TD's and on the downside, he did fumble twice.

Phillips has steam rolled everyone this year but got off to a bad start and was behind 14-0 due to a 74 yd run and a Patti INT. Was 17-14 at half and I think it ended at 38-28. This team is loaded with talent, I counted at least 9 D1 prospects. Reminds me of the Lakeland team a few years ago that had Rainey, and the Pouncey brothers. There are about a half dozen studs on the D at DP. Three of them could step right in and play next fall at UM.

One kid that really impressed me was their kicker=Moffett. He not only kicks everyone into the endzone but most of them are 5 yds out of the endzone. He made one FG of 50 that had a good 15 yds left on it. He is a lanky kid that looks like he should be in Chemistry class not playing FB. In fact maybe that is how he kicks so far-Flubber.

After the game Dee did not mention anything about decommitting. He is a very well spoken young man and seems to have his head on straight. I predict that he will someday be an All-American. Would love to see him at MICHIGAN.

PS   Seminole Ridge , Dr Phillips opposition last night had uniforms identical to OSU. Even down to the helmet stickers. I had a warm feeling being able to root for a team who was beating an OSU look alike. I only hope I can see my team in Maize and Blue with the winged helmets do the same in the very near future. GOBLUE!!!!

No he wasn't busting 85 yd runs, but there were a few times every game where he was close.  You have to be blind to not tell he had some sort of injury(s) that was limiting him to some degree; he and RR even said he hasn't been 100% for quite a while.  But still, even though it was less than the first half of the season, if you think he didn't juke very many people you weren't watching the same games as the rest of us.

thanks. +1 2U, sir. The coaching controversy, the recruiting, it is what it is. I can only read so much more. As long as the coaches are pounding the pavement and working on recruits, that's all you can ask for. I hope we get a good class, but I'm done waiting on the minutiae of of recruiting.

All of us beyond a certain age, definitely including me, need to get a life. I am addicted, admittedly. But it doesn't make sense to be so up (or down) on whether (or not) Dee (or Zettel, or Frost, or Walls, etc., etc., etc.) commit to Michigan, or elsewhere. Terrible sentence, but you get the drift. I vaguely recall DB stating that a program doesn't depend on one player. And Magnus feeling potentially Meh about the de-committment of Dee. I hope Hart does what is best for him. And I hope that means coming to Michigan. However, at the end of the day, it only matters so much.

are still 17 year olds. Imagine what he must be hearing from people, each of them with their own agenda, however well-intentioned. If he chooses to play for a bunch of folks who don't really have his best interests at heart, so be it. It does not make him a bad kid, nor does it mean we might have been better with him than without him.

But... somewhere there is a kid looking at the same school. His talent would appear to be very near to DH's, but deep down, in his heart, he knows Dee is better and he is troubled. He won't admit his fear, not to his parents, not to his coaches, and certainly not to us via the media. That fear will drive him to another school, perhaps Michigan. Once the die is cast, it is up to genetics, the staffs, and the football gods. That young man may in fact be better, or more resilient, or maybe just luckier. Recruiting is a gamble, less so for coaches that will cut a kid loose ala Saban, but a gamble nonetheless. This is why we twirl with each incoming class of freshmen, we are like gambling addicts in front of the slots.

Now imagine if there had been a girl involved, and count your blessings.

Edit: Dee, you look much better in Blue than in that gawdawful red!

I was just talking to my wife last night about the same exact thing.  This is ridiculous, I am 30 (I'm a man!!!!!), and I had a shitty morning yesterday because I was thinking about losing a 17 year old recruit.  I even went so far as to say I was giving up Mgoblog for a while because it isn't good for my overall mental health.  I obsess over ridiculous Michigan football related happenings that I have no control over.  Then I got back from dinner and promptly checked to see if there were any updates on anything.  This is a sickness.
