Dee Hart: Michigan 75, Alabama 25
Hart says Auburn is out, and Michigan is in the lead, with a 75-percent possibility he'll commit.

wake me up when he's on campus.....
Auburn's out? That's a pleasant surprise. I figured they were our only competition. Even though this article quotes him as saying 75/25, I think that our chances are higher than that.
But Saban still makes me nervous.
He makes me vomit.
The OP is providing new, more current/complete information. Why are you coughing?
Sorry, I didn't realize linking to the exact same article is "new, more current information."
That's okay, you didn't notice that he specifically mentioned the 75% comment, which is significant and relevant. Not everyone wants to use the links...more detailed OPs can contain "new, more current/complete information"
the repetive topics on the board or the dozen people who need to point it out...
I would have to say the latter...sometimes it has to be called out. The OP here was perfectly reasonable
Without the latter, the former would be much worse. Also, I generally try to provide a link to the original so that the conversation can be kept in one spot. It makes for better conversations
I like our odds
Same here.
This is where I double down.
If true, great news...not sure if we have a real difference maker at tailback right now (hopefully Shaw/Cox can emerge, or Smith can stay healthy as the #1) but all I know is Dee would fit perfectly in our offense.
Until Michigan is 100% and Alabama is 0% I can not rest peacefully.
I will believe it when we have a LOI from him, but regardless I will still get a good nights sleep.
Over to the right of the Hart article there's a link to some sports guy's list of the 100 best Florida HS players, and this name stood out:
Wonderful Monds, III
This one isn't bad, either, esp. since he's on defense: Lamarcus Brutus
I think he is actually WM IV. WM II, was born in 1952. He was an All American DB at Nebraska back in 1975. He played one season for the Steelers.

WM III was born in 1973 and apparently played at Tenn State before being drafted by the Atlanta Braves in 1993. http://www.baseball-reference.com/bullpen/Wonderful_Monds
It's all quite confusing.
Dee mentioned that he would like to see the change of seasons:
"You know I'm from Florida, so I've never really had all four seasons and I like that."
That's probably not the main selling point that the coaching staff has been emphasizing but it could be an important factor in his decision nonetheless. College is about opening yourself up to new experiences and Dee seems like he appreciates that.
Well I'm glad he's got that attitude. I wonder if he'll be singing a different tune next year when he's trekking through the tundra to Dennison at 8am.
I know winters are harsh, but nothing compares with that happy good feeling you have when you are walking outside on that first sunny warm spring day.
Try hanging out one summer in Miami or Austin or even Tuscaloosa. It's miserable and everyone stays indoors during the daytime as much as possible.
Saban oversigns. Your commitment to him, does not equal a commtiment to you.
You really want to come here, if for no other reason than to have Fred Jackson declare you the all time greatest thing since sliced bread in some way.
Also, he'd likely be stuck behind Trent Richardson for his first year or two.
We all realize it's your life, your future, everything you've ever worked for is at stake. So just ask yourself... would you put all of that into the hands of a man who consistently toys with athlete's lives the way Nick Saban does?
You can call that negative recruiting if you feel the need to... but I just gotta say, if I had a son, I wouldn't let Saban within 250 miles of him.
he wants to come to Michigan and plans to do so if we have a halfway decent season. But if there are more ugly losses and the sports-as-entertainment media goes crazy with the will-he-or-won't-he-get-fired shtick, then he's likely to back off and take his chances with 'Bama.
[Note: I'm more of a sports-as-the-pursuit-of-excellence fan, as opposed to sports-as-entertainment.]
I like how he cites two things about Michigan that many people think doesnt matter for the top recruits:
Weather:
"I like the area at Michigan, you know I'm from Florida, so I've never really had all four seasons and I like that."
Academics:
"They also have great programs up there, like their business program and that's what I want to go into is business management."
...is really a major consideration, Dee will be Blue. Say what you will about Bama football vs. Michigan football, but Bama business school vs. Ross School? The two institution's aren't even in the same universe.
I think alot of people don't realize how smart alot of these athletes are. These athletes that go pro often want to make smart investments with their multi-million dollar deals. Getting a good education is essential even if they make it to the NFL so they know what to do with their money. Rich Rod doesnt just need to sell the academics to the parents.
But he might not realize how hard it is to get into the B-School. At some schools, admission into the business program is a mere formality. At M, that is not the story. That is not to say it is impossible though. Are there any other notable present or former football players who graduated with BBAs?
I'm sure if he gets into Michigan the B-school will find a place for him.
I can't speak on Dee's intelligence or how hard it is to get into the business school but a lot of former athletes go on to succeed in business with or without business specific degrees and it isn't entirely dependent on intelligence. My former boss was a d-1 basketball player for a small school and it was easy to see why he had been selected for a management position. A lot of what he learned on the court translated to his professional life such as leadership, poise under pressure, and the value of hard work.
What universe means?
Bama has a business school? Really?
Technically, it's "bidness" school.
i've even met has been great. Hands down.
Looking good on the dee hart tip. Win a couple early games and boom. I believe he'll be seen on campus in Jan. Be great.
"So you're telling me there's a chance. Yeah! I read ya."
75% of the time it works everytime.
tells me): If the early part of the season makes clear that the wheels are firmly ON here, his h(e)art is with Michigan. If there's a clear path to an NC with him in a leading role at AL, that remains a lure and might alter his decision if M is foundering.
Given that Saban is the devil and will tell his players anything--that this fact is not unknown to smart players and their smart moms, who know what kind of pacts they are making; given that Michigan is rounding into form--I believe Hart goes blue.
...given the 75/25 formulation, but still:
Dee Hart at the Gridiron Kings. Do you have a favorite?.. Dee smiling ear to ear.. "Something like that" . Bigger smile.. pause..."Michigan"
will he actually be accepted academically even if he picks us?
...your paranoia is to search out reality.
were those "real" classes from a "real" school .....
...to be funny, you're failing miserably. If you're trying to make some kind of social commentary, I'm missing your point.
I would love to lure in HaHa with Dee and build a stronger connection with the talent filled Dr.Phillips HS.
